I wonder if I could take the HT head and put it on the SS body. Although for the X-wing luke I'd display him with the helmet on, that should hide most of the short comings of the SS sculpt.
Good for you, Fok -- you're already at the 'bargaining' stage of grief. I'm still stuck here at disbelief. :lol

Sad thing is plenty of people will buy this because they just have to have an X-wing Luke and figure this is their only chance. SSC will take it as "Hey, the fans like our crappy product and will pay a premium for it". Too many 1/6 addicts around that just can't say no. I went through 1/6 rehab years ago and it is such freedom to say no and not buy crap.

I truly wonder just how many "got-to-have-it" kids with butt-loads of cash truly remain at the current price tags.

When faced with Vader, Luke stormtrooper, Luke Pilot, Spacetrooper, some new TFA junk, and the fact that you just bought Ben, Han and Chewbacca... I really believe most people will become more choosey and selective about what goes into their display.

I believe Luke pilot and Spacetrooper will suffer cuts to make room for other more anticipated product.

I really hope so. SSC is just getting out of hand with prices and delivering poor quality. Maybe the only way they will learn is if people quit buying their crap. Seems like plenty of people still bought Jango and that piece suffered all kinds of QC issues. They could not even get the tunic color right.

I don't think sales on Jango were very good. But that's just a gut instinct based on the lack of pictures in the thread and general lack on enthusiasm for that figure... and the fact that after two years the exclusive is still available.

If Sideshow also lowered its edition sizes (as has been one excuse for the higher prices), then having the exclusive remain is even more troubling.

Is there even anyone like that on here though? I can think of a few that collect Marvel stuff from Hot Toys and Star Wars OT Hot Toys that buys everything...
but buying every SSC Star Wars release? I mean.... :lol I don't think anyone is going to buy this... no matter how much money they have to spend or how big a fan they are....

Even if SSC put out a ROTS Kenobi or Anakin for $240.... I couldn't bring myself to buy one of those if this is what we are going to get.

Well yeah, that was my point. I think collectors are changing their habits and adapting to the "new market"...

After all, 4 figures are going to cost you about 1 grand.

It's going to be about $2,000 just to get all 7 heroes from ANH (w- SS robots) plus Vader and a stormtrooper.

I just can't get over the fact that 1/6 are as expensive as PFs when I started.

I was following this release with great interest, but that head sculpt just made me back off the order button. I'm still looking forward to their TIE fighter, but this one has sadly lost me.

I don't follow PF's as I do not collect them but are the price increases on those about on par with the 1/6 scale stuff as of late?
Dollar wise yeah they have gone up close to the same amount % wise not even close. Prices for PF starter around $250-300 and 1/6 started at $50.

yeah thats what I was looking at is the percentage of increase. 1/6 scale has gone up 500% where the PF's by that rate have only gone up about 50% then in the last 5 or so years. Jesh let the fleecing commence.

If Hot Toys simply started offering $100 alternate costume packs to sell as complements to it's own Star Wars figures, Sideshow would be done.

Yep, in defense of SS I have been lead to believe the initial license was quite cheap an allowed for lower priced figures and there wasn't anything to show that they would sell for todays prices. We know the license has defiantly got very expensive so had made a big difference in prices. I cant blame them for asking what they do since people are paying them.

The also have lower edition sizes now, thus making each figure more expensive to recoup costs. However, the recent super inflation of prices is inexcusable. These figures should be $115-150, with Pilot Luke at the lower end of that.
