Is the ammo pouch (edit: or signal flares per the SS product page) around his left boot swappable? I notice in some shots it's on the opposite boot.

Yes, he's looking good.

Those gloves are reminiscent of Sideshow's ESB Vader. But the EX bare hands and bunched gloves will fix that!

Or Hoth Han & Luke. Not sure why they didn't go with a single piece. They don't need a whole lot of articulation.

Dave, are the cuffs soft goods or plastic?

Yes, it has 2 metal studs that slip into holes - fairly easy to remove.

The cuffs are plastic.

And bulky gloves seem pretty screen accurate to me.

Didn't notice they were two-part. I meant how they flared out...

...yet accurate!

But I prefer the non-gloved look - which was the impetus for going for the Ex. I also like ordering from Sideshow because of the release time (and reward points), so I look for excuses to do so!

They're black.

:lol

Thanks. The separation is slightly distracting, but nothing like HT Vader's gloves.

I see that now. I forgot Sideshow's Vader had single piece gloves.

On SS Vader they were a bit distracting as they accentuated his skinny arms.

This got me thinking. Can't find a definitive answer as to which leg for the flares is correct; whether he changed them from one to the other; whether the shots were flipped; or whether it was just in behind the scenes photos he has them on the right leg.

I did see this handy costume guide though:

This just isn't close to being on the same level as other $200+ figures. And the gloved hands look like they belong to a 1/4 scale figure.

It's not terrible, but should really be a $150 figure, max.

Honestly, the ONLY way Sideshow can compete with Hot Toys is to sell their figures at a lower price. They cannot surpass HT quality, so there you go.

If Sideshow creates a line of $100 - $150 SW 1/6 scale figures at this level of quality, they will have great success. Do fan-favorite, classic characters (Moff Tarkin, Dengar, Akbar, etc.) with minimal accessories. I'm sure a $120 Grand Moff Tarkin would be a big hit for them.

If you were Disney, and you had two companies making the same kind of product, why would you continue to have one sell for less if the other could sell it for more?
