That's great, in theory.This just isn't close to being on the same level as other $200+ figures. And the gloved hands look like they belong to a 1/4 scale figure.
It's not terrible, but should really be a $150 figure, max.
Honestly, the ONLY way Sideshow can compete with Hot Toys is to sell their figures at a lower price. They cannot surpass HT quality, so there you go.
If Sideshow creates a line of $100 - $150 SW 1/6 scale figures at this level of quality, they will have great success. Do fan-favorite, classic characters (Moff Tarkin, Dengar, Akbar, etc.) with minimal accessories. I'm sure a $120 Grand Moff Tarkin would be a big hit for them.
In practical application though, if this is what a $240 figure looks like, what do you think a $100-$150 is gonna look like.
If Sideshow is having to spend $$$ more to produce these figures at their current level, whats gonna happen when they chop $100 per figure out of production/profit. Do you really think they are gonna make the same level of figure for $100 less and cut their/Disneys profits almost in half. Nah.
