Oh, true - I didn't notice the Vader stand behind Paramore's watermark. HT Vader's a bit oversized, but not as giant as the SSC Vaders.

I put my out-of-the box X-Wing Luke (which is a little shorter than the one on the Pro 1.0) against Vader, and he doesn't look as diminutive as para's photo implies. The top of his helmet looks to be level with the bottom of Vader's 'nose'.

I think I'm going to sell my figures and start collecting your photos instead.

Brilliant idea. Trend setting actually. I'm think I'll join you. I'll just print his nice photographs and place them in my detolfs!

After your post TonTon, I looked up post by TaliBane and realize he's not a HT fanboy. Sorry TaliBane, it was just your inaccurate post about the size difference about the HT and SS Vader's that made me assume you were. I've been reluctantly staying away from the Star Wars section here because of all the biased posts for HT and against SS.

It's funny - these days I'm usually accused of being a SS fanboy for hate on HT and any support of a SS figure (I'm about to get the 16oz can of whup-*ss for liking SSC 3PO despite his thumbs, I can feel it coming) but I really should become a HT fanboy because life would be so much easier.:rotfl

And Outlander, my understanding was that SSC ANH Vader was around 14", the SSC DX Vader was 13 3/4" and the HT Vader was around 13 1/2" - while the costumed character I understood should be 13"-13 1/4" in 1/6 scale (this determination was after reviewing endless pages of posturing and arguing in the Vader threads.)

The measurements of the figures is obviously problematic when it comes down to 1/4" or so because you can put the feet together and gain 1/8"-1/4" in height or splay them out and lose even more.

Disclaimer:
Always keep the "$#@% you, Talibane!" at the ready because it's usually warranted. He can be nit-picky, combative and has even been awarded Negative Reputation for his comments from the owner of this forum - and I bet you didn't even know that was possible.

Wow. I love that steel-blue look in your pics, especially on Vader.

I knew HT Vader is a little oversized but he looks pretty massive there next to Luke. Luke without the helmet wouldn't even come to his shoulder. From memory, Vader should be a touch over 13" and Luke a touch over 11 1/2" without X-Wing helmet. It could be that Luke's legs are splayed but Vader's are together, making Vader that little bit taller.

I put my out-of-the box X-Wing Luke (which is a little shorter than the one on the Pro 1.0) against Vader, and he doesn't look as diminutive as para's photo implies. The top of his helmet looks to be level with the bottom of Vader's 'nose'.

It could also be that I've got Vader's head tilted right back bringing his 'face' higher, that could add to the illusion also.

I think I'm going to sell my figures and start collecting your photos instead.

Brilliant idea. Trend setting actually. I'm think I'll join you. I'll just print his nice photographs and place them in my detolfs!

Sideshow would have paid $$$$ for that image a few months ago. Amazingly well done.:clap

I think the issue with Luke is that his face just looks totally devoid of life w/o the helmet; like he's bored or was lobotomized. I still hope we see a really great repaint of this sculpt as I think it's got a lot of potential that was sadly lost at the production level.

Thanks guys :duff

I'm not going to worry too much about the misalignment as it's only noticeable up close. Yes, I'd be very interested to see the sculpt repainted too, intrigued to see it's potential. In the meantime the helmet stays on! :lol

New shot last night.
