Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Super expensive license, complex outfit (probably 10x more complex than Luke's...), metal shield, extra headsculpt and cowl and $15.00 less.

The only way they could justify it is if Mark Hamill demanded to get a cut of $50 for every figure that features his features, or else he wouldn't do the sequel trilogy.

Instead he actually has it in his contract that he gets a copy of every Star Wars item that uses his likeness, or at least he used to.

Sideshow has done promo videos in the past so I don't think it necessarily means that but with the price and people's reactions to it you never know.

Heh, kinda tells you how barebones the figure is when they only need about 20 seconds in that video to show the whole thing off.

But it's $500 for the pair... for a 3rd tier multiple outfit for Luke and a trooper variant.

Sure, someone had fun making that, and you've got to love toy adverts, which are always good fun. But that video did more to conceal Luke than reveal him; there was one shot of him under the helmet, one shot from behind of the uncovered head sculpt. You start wondering, what are they hiding?

This wasn't a video to "show off" the figure, just purely a promotional puff piece.
