All I'm saying is that RW and FR felt like awesome roller coasters with unneeded plots attached to them.
I'd gladly just ride the coasters without wasting time on trying to be invested into cliched stories of two-dimensional characters.

Ok... I understand what you're saying. I agree to an extent I guess, the characters are fairly two dimensional in these movies. It doesn't bother me much personally though.

My favorite scene.....now HT or Sideshow get busy on this figure ....and make MAX BEFORE FUROSIA....

I see new details each time I watch....

1. Max puts is hand to his head everytime he sees his daughters ghost....Which eventually saves him from a fatal head shot.
2. Furosia gas pedal is a foot measuring thing...
3. Max kept the needle and syringe from his time as Nux's "blood bag"....its what he uses to save Furosia....which aside from making him a "blood bag" again, gives Nux the credit for saving Furosia as well....

You know, it really looks much better in b&w... Tho anything is better than ****ing "teal and orange" crap.

Road Warrior is just so grounded when compared to the storm scene in FR.

Max is made of titanium in FR.

He's strapped to metal exposed to the elements.
Steel face mask digging in.
Goes into a hot storm.
Next to Tornados.
No barrier covering his mouth from the massive sand debris in the churning air.
Strapped to a car full of fuel that nux spilt.
Rammed from behind by an 18 wheeler, car he's riding on gets destroyed.
Gets ejected right next to a tornado.
Gets up and shakes it off like nothing happened, not even a scratch.

He is no longer Max, he is a super being.

Max wasn't even in Fury Road. He was a mental construct of the feral kid and therefore indestructible. I'm pretty sure that's what George Miller was saying.

I put that down to a clear-air slipstream behind the vehicle.

I call it luck. He was lying unconscious for untold hours.

For a movie like this you have to be willing to suspend *some* disbelief.

I think I counted three massive tornadoes! :lol

Mad Max all of a sudden turned into a Prequel Trilogy Transformers videogame. :(

Bluray transfer is gorgeous though. :lol

See, for me suspending disbelief works in Road Warrior but the FR storm was cgi silliness.

I know! So silly. I hate fantasy elements in movies, especially post-apocalypse films that the director says are only loosely connected to other films in the series. Oh you went and made one of the most exciting action films in the history of cinema? Don't care! Your fantasy future had fantasy in it. Fail. What's next? Guys getting shot in the arm and then swimming a hundred yards in open water to a submarine? Faces melting after opening a box? Guys getting shot 87 times but still surviving long enough to be made into a robot? I hate this Michael Bay action movie **** and will have none of it. :lecture

I would agree if the film's lineage was about finding the lost ark.

But what came before was very simple, no need for cgi storms to make his story thrilling.

At least Thunderdome had the sense to show the storm quickly and move on from it, and that was the year of excess! :lol

Did it bother you when the Red Skull said that his Fuhrer was wasting time looking for religious artifacts in the desert in Captain America The First Avenger? Because that movie paid lip service to Indy's adventure in Raiders as if it was in the same universe when it clearly wasn't. First Avenger had much more fantasy in it but for fun it unofficially linked itself to Raiders. Fury Road is the same thing. Miller has said several times that he doesn't worship at the altar of series continuity and just makes each Mad Max movie its own thing. Fury Road follows its own rules, and does so spectacularly.

I think complaining about the tornado storm solely because such events weren't depicted in The Road Warrior is like complaining that The Winter Soldier didn't acknowledge that Tony Stark supposedly learned all of SHIELD's "dirty little secrets" in the first Avengers movie. Who cares. TWS is the best MCU film by far, **** what Tony supposedly did in a previous film. :D
