Careful jye, your scathing commentary on Fury Road prior to that Snickers bar made you perilously close to being immortalized just like this guy:

Watched Thunderdome again. I now think it's inaccurate to say that Max was unnecessary or didn't drive any of the action. He clearly felt that the murdering of a mentally disabled man was a breach of the "fair fight" agreement that Aunty promised him and made that known.

When he's with the kids he very specifically instructs them, even to the point of shooting at the girl twice and then punching her in the face, that what the kids are searching for doesn't exist and that they should be content in their little canyon paradise. But they don't *listen* to him and even though they go and initiate the final action sequence he still takes it upon himself to accompany them and help clean up the mess they made.

Also because of him the kids no longer live out their lives as the "waiters" or whatever they called themselves but rather as inhabitants of the abandoned "highscrapers" that they were so enamored with.

Aunty's squabble with Master seemed to be largely one of egos so the destruction of Bartertown is really on her.

Do you think Aunty knew that Blaster was a Down Syndrome brute?

Good question, but at the very least if she only learned at the moment his helmet came off she still showed no mercy.

Also, that one shot at the end where Max is laying on the ground and then he raises his head right as the plane flies overhead perfectly in frame, I *love* shots like that. Just the perfect timing that that would have required.

One of the best such shots ever is when the basket truck explodes in Raiders and Indy runs into frame in the foreground, reacts to the explosion, and then without breaking character slowly approaches the live wreckage. "One take" mastery! :rock

I have no idea what happened there. But clearly there are two sides to George Miller's split personality: the Max side, and the Babe side. I think the Babe side took over just before Max sledgehammered Blaster's head. A little pig inside GM said "no George, he doesn't mean to be brutal, he's been driven that way"...

See, I *knew* FR was basically a remake of BT!

Saw it last night and I think it was far more enjoyable than AoU and I liked that film.

I thought this film was so intense from start to finish and I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation for what was going to happen next. The action sequences were just outstanding to watch.

I think it's one of those films that is a must to see on the big screen.

$227 million worldwide and counting. Now I'm worried that at any given moment (depending on George Miller's mood) the sequel could be some G rated thing where no one dies and everyone just shares a group laugh at the end. Never forget that we went from Road Warrior...to Thunderdome. :lol

Please no Beyonce as some random chieftain...

I need 2 things right now. A Mature Rated Directors Cut and Hot Toys Figures including the guitar guy.
I loved this movie!!!

It was R Rated. I want it to have a M rating, the highest one available. Some cuts seemed to be fast in order to keep it R. I am sure there will be another version.
