I'm sure if everything is fine with his family he'll be right back at it in time for his next start. If not, its not like the Phillies will miss him that much. I think ESPN is making it way more dramatic than it needs to be.

Cards v Braves starts tonight.

It will be a strange feeling not seeing Cox in the opposing dugout. :monkey2

Wow, almost let this one slip by, thanks again to Broxton.
He gives up way too many hits.

Thank goodness all the outfielders were paying attention.

Game save should not go to Broxton. They should give it to Tony Gwynn. :clap
(if only that were possible)

Let's hope the ending is a little different, though! lol

And to think, they're doing this well WITHOUT Wainwright. Insane.

:rotfl

OMG, yeah, if it gets that far I hope it ends differently. I don't need to see that in person ever again. :monkey2

Exactly, and if you look at the pitching staff from '04 and there wasn't much to it. Suppan led the team with 16 wins...16!!! :slap :lol

Glad the Cards are playing better. If Pujols continues to get back to being Pujols they should be just fine in this Division.

lol@Jeff Suppan.

Is he even in the league anymore?

Is he even in the league anymore?

I know he didn't have much the past few years, but man, talk about a big game pitcher. Game 7 in '04 against Clemens was one of the best I've ever seen. Then he puts up an even better performance in '06 Game 3 and the clinching Game 7!!!

He was with the Cards last year, but had to google to see where he's at now. Guess he signed a minor league deal with the Royals.

The bad news is the Rockies are playing horrible. The good news is they are still 17-9 and a 4.5 game lead. I can't believe how they've won 17 games in April but the offense has played as bad as it has.

Hopefully the offense wakes up before the bullpen collapses.

Marlins continue rolling. This time it's the Cards going down. As long as we continue to quietly win each series, all is very good.

Actually quite surprised to see the bullpen not choking. What a refreshing change from the last several years.

"This victory brought to you by the Cardinal bullpen" :lol

I think our bullpens have switched roles. We were very good last year. This year we seem to be snake bitten. :slap

I feel your pain, bro!

There's nothing more frustrating than having the starter hand off the ball to the manager, with a lead, only to have the bullpen blow it.

It recently happened to our ace JJ in Cincy. He had MANY of those incidents last year... :(
