Nomar gets a foul ball! :lol As if this game couldn't get any weirder....I love it though!

Finally, the Angels put it away. Great game by both teams. Both played their hearts out for this one. Nice treat for the fans.

And with that, good night!!!

Marlins guaranteed a winning road trip with last nights win over the Cards. Hopefully they'll win today's game as well and take yet another series. VERY impressed with the fish.

If you aren't aware of Mike Stanton yet, I suggest you keep an eye on him from now on. Looks to be the next big thing in baseball. Now if he can work on hitting the breaking ball better, he'll be unstoppable at the plate...

They seem to be playing each other on a level field, imo. The 4 errors last night by the Cards did not help our cause whatsoever. Each one of these games had had some small breaks make the win.

I could see this being a first round match-up if the teams keep competing like this. And to your point, Stanton is looking like he's healthy, so that will be a big benefit for you guys. He just needs to work on that average and he'll be putting himself into All-Star contention by next year.

Glad the cards are playing as well as they are. Pujols is still up and down which is annoying and maybe the contract is on his mind more than I thought or better yet he thought it would be. I still think he ends up with his usual numbers but its gonna take some work and I also think he'll sign something before the year is over.

Why couldn't the NBA thread be as civilized as this one?...

I enjoy the "sport" and discussions on the teams and players. But when people get insulting or disrespectful, it gets old, fast.

Josh, Pujols will indeed rebound. Hanley Ramirez is going through a similar slump. Not sure what's going through his mind, but at least their team-mates are picking up the slack. Feel sorry for Josh Johnson. Can't buy a win in his last 3 outings...

We don't have a Wake or Iron Lungs in this thread thats why. :lol

I expect he will. Hell, both guys are way way too good and still too young to be getting bad. Right both teams have guys picking them up which is big in baseball because while its a team sport is also very individual as well. That kid can pitch he'll be the NL Cy Young I think.

:lol Seriously, it is crazy over there in the NBA forum! I try to just peep in and root for the Bulls, but do my best to stay out of most of the "discussions". I primarily love baseball anyways. A good baseball discussion to me is like reading a book to other people. I could never get bored with a well-manored discussion around this sport.

Ok, is it me, or do the Cards and Fish always seem to split the series in the regular season? Not sure why it feels that way. I'll have to hit BBR I guess.

Pujols and Ramirez should both pull out of it and will be their all-star selves at some point. You just have to hope the guys around them don't fall apart (we've seen that one on the Cards before :lol).

Oh, and Josh Johnson better be an All-Star this year so we can keep the All-Star streak alive at 2. :lecture :lol

I'm glad to have another Bulls fan in there. Nash has joined me for the playoffs but I've been by myself all year. :lol I love baseball the thinking and what to do aspects are just a lot of fun.

Thats the thing is will he get it turned around by the time these other guys cool off a bit. That would suck.

Braves are finally starting to turn it around.....4 game win streak.....let's see what they can do against Shaun Marcum....

Giants need to trade for some offense for crying out loud. How they scored so many runs in the playoffs last year is beyond me. :dunno

I'll try to get your back....unless there's gunfire, then I'm out! :lol

Yeah it would. Man, Berkman is on a tear, though! I hope he continues, then I hope the Cards sign him up for 2 more years!

MV3! MV3! MV3! Well, for this year at least. :monkey2:lol

If they keep up with that run differential they should do just fine this year!

Hell, if there is gunfire my white ass is runnin for the hills. :lol

He is and playing like he did with the Astros. I wouldn't mind seeing if they can resign him for a fair price.

The Giants played it last year exactly how you should play it...coast along playing mediocre baseball, turn it up a notch in August/September to get in, then apply a can of whoop a* on everyone in the playoffs!

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

So do you think Pujols will get picked up by the Cards?
I'm hoping it happens, but it could go either way with this FO. A 10yr deal seems might hefty, but if anyone can play for 10 more years and put up some gaudy numbers, it's him.
