:monkey2 You made the monkey cry.

The '87 team will go down as the best sports moment in our state. It was our first championship of any kind in all 4 major sports. We've suffered through 4 Super Bowl losses with the Vikings.

We just had our 20 year reunion for our '91 team this past summer. Really sad that Kirby Puckett was missing. :(

I hear ya. :(

I think a lot of people were secretly rooting for the Twins that year. Like you said, so much suffering, especially with the Vikings (which always makes me scratch my head with the talent they've had).

Did you get to attend the reunion game?
Sooooo sad indeed.

Bring them some luck. :lol As I told a buddy of mine if Texas wins I'm not gonna be upset. Disappointed sure but I won't be upset. The Rangers are a good organization who I think does play baseball the right way. Plus I love Nolan Ryan he was one of my faves as a kid so to see his team win one along with Hamilton and Young would be cool. As a Cards fan with the season that we had in some ways I'm just pleased we didn't fall apart in May. :lol

I'll try, Josh! :)

Yeah, Nolan Ryan was the guy growing up! I know people ragged on Carp for yelling and cursing during this series, but I'm not sure people remember how tenacious Ryan was on the mound. There were several times he would nail guys for getting an XBH or HR off of him, sometimes in the head (hello Ellis Burks)! Unfortunately, it's all part of the game, and probably "cleaner" today in some regards now that people are cursing instead of head hunting.

i have no problem with carp's yelling...the playoffs get emotional and he got caught up in it. plus, napnap got the last laugh :D

No problems with emotional players whether its Carpenter or Nyjer Morgan or Brandon Phillips or whoever.

that he did!

did you ever use the atbat app at the park to check in during your game? i can never get the thing to actually run once the game starts. seems like they (media) jam all the signals at first pitch.

i haven't...i can usually get texts and calls during the game, but have a hard time getting twitter and other crap to load while i am there

LOL

when the rangers tell CJ to piss off i fully expect them to throw their hat in the ring for CC or darvish

yeah not sure why CC would stay with Yankees he already got his ring and the team is not compositioned to win any more not with Hughes and Barnett weak rotation. make more money and go to a contender like Boston wold seem smart

i have no doubt that the yankees will not be outbid for CC...it's just a matter if CC wants to leave or not

Yeah, Ryan was a beast on the mound. Ask Robin Ventura what its like to charge the mound. :lol Carp shouldn't have added the curse words that was over the top but pumping his arms is pretty minor.

No, I didn't go. Wish I had. Watched the whole pre-game special on tv. It was nice to see the boys again.

Yeah, Puckett passing away was such a shock to Minnesota sports fans. :(

If its 1 day delay no big deal. MLB always gets a lot of crap when they start a game and have to stop it. I say if there is any doubt, go ahead and delay it...unless it looks like rain in the forecast for several days.

I know people watching on tv might be bothered to have the game moved, but I've been to games where they debated to cancel the game and did not only to have the game cancelled after 2 hour rain delay and a lot of angry fans that decided to show up and pay for parking..etc.

I'd be pissed if I spent $100 premium to park at a WS game, fought the added crowd and traffic, bought the food, etc and then was told go home and come back tomorrow.

i am glad they called it now instead of risking a rain delay and us losing colby tonight

still gives the cards a chance to come back with carp on short rest if there is a game 7

uh oh...will the added day give Tony La Russa time to sober up before the next game...or add yet another 24 hours of binge drinking??? hmm. I think when I turn on the tv and see him in an interview I can actually see the smell of booze wafting off him like Pigpen from the Peanuts.

:lol If only the Tigers had made it. I get the same feeling about Jim Leyland. Only with stale cigarette smoke.
