It's going to be one strange and crazy year for baseball.
If the Cubs somehow claw their way back to win the World Series this year, you know the end is near.
if the cubs ever win it in any year, the end is near

That might be true but let's face it, nothing will top the last day of the regular season last year.
Or Game 6 of the World Series!
They might be able to at least meet the bar with the one-game playoff round this year, but man, if I was a player and I busted my butt to make it into the playoffs, and then one game ends it all?!!?
That was killer too!
It'll be the situation like 2001 (102 win A's-85 win Twins) would have given where people will cry foul about this new one game playoff. The easy answer is just win the division, but losing everything in 1 game will suck for 2 teams from here on.
What happened to Walters?
I always thought that guy would pan out somehow with the Cards, but now it sounds like he's headed to the DL for your Twinkies?!!?
Yeah, looks like a stiff shoulder.
Twins can hit and have a decent bullpen. But man oh man, the starting pitching except Diamond. If we had a couple of starters who could go 6 innings and give up 3 runs.
Having Pavano back at 100% health would be nice.
Just have to wonder if that will happen this year, though.

Tell you what would have been better. If we hadn't lost our best starter for the year. May I present to you.....
Scott Baker.
Those don't go together. Back in his Yankee days his teammates called being injured the 15 day Pavano.

Yeah, I didn't count him since he's gone for the year.
I'm just looking at what pieces are still left that could contribute.
Someone else HAS to step up besides Diamond (which is just unreal, btw).
Actually he's been durable and has been a great fit with the Twins. He's pitched well for us. Obviously your opinion is based on the period he spent with the Yanks, which I'll admit was an injury plagued debacle.
Yeah, you're right. Looking at his IP in '10 (221) and '11 (222) he has pitched quite a bit. He hasn't seen numbers like that since his days as a Marlin. However, for me he'll always be that guy that the Sox thankfully didn't sign and the Yankees paid $38 million.
