Re: Making of HT Super Black Predator

Man, that does look really good. I'm not sure if the head is accurate or not (in the film it was pretty hard to make out ANY of the Predators other than Classic because it was so dark) but that figure looks awesome and I'm not even a huge Predator fan.

The paint apps and textures are perfect.

Dont watch AVP-R if you thought this was dark :wink1:

Re: Making of HT Super Black Predator

this guy defn looks better then what we saw on screen, but I have a hard time believing the factory is gonna be able to replicate the awesomeness in these photos. If they do, with all that detail, easily the best piece they have ever created. The detail is insane.

Speaking of which if the sun never moves how come towards the climax of the film it's in a night setting?

Re: Making of HT Super Black Predator

I worried that too. The paint looks too good for the factory workers to do. I was afraid to post that because I did not want someone to say I'm complaining again, yes thats a complaint.

Re: Making of HT Super Black Predator

Looks like the torso is solid plastic as opposed to rubber - don't know how much of a benefit a rubber covering would be with respect to additional shoulder articulation (though ab articulation is lost).

I must echo people's sentiments with reapect to these WIP pics - it reinforces my appreciation for these figures and the skill and effort put in. A question I have for those in the know is what the process is from proto sculpt to production model. It seems like numerous sculpts are made, some with armor and some without. Does the sculptor do additional separate sculpts of armor and accessories using the full sculpt as reference, or is the full sculpt broken down/taken apart into its components? I'd love for HT or Sideshow to do a full behind the scenes expose to show the whole process.

Re: Making of HT Super Black Predator

The mask is smooth... not textured like the promo/official pics

I was wondering the same thing :dunno

All of the HT promo pics sport paint apps that look too good to be true, but they rarely disappoint!

Their sun move much slower.... The whole film was in the span of less than 1 day on game the planet (could have been a few days (a week) or more - in earth days)..... It went from morn (daylight), dusk, night to dawn

Laser Cannon > Bow & Arrows

Guess again newb.

Nothing presented on screen suggests that any Predator could do anything other than have his ass handed to him by a skilled Na'vi. They can do pretty much anything a Pred can do and more, but are bigger, stronger, faster, and not dependent on easily broken technology. Na'vi FTW.

Well, ignoring the fact that Dutch's arsenal was modern technology (203 shells, gunpowder and his steel knife) applied to primitive weapons, the fact that Dutch would single handedly beat the entire Na'vi race with his bare hands makes any posts from Avatards irrelevant.
