Re: The Man of Steel

Not every Superman movie needs Williams Superman score.

Re: The Man of Steel

:lol

his Superman score is one of my top 3 movie scores ever.

But it's time for something new for Superman.

If it fails, then go back to the Williams Superman score. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Ok fine,

I say use the Williams Superman score for everything.

Diaper commercials
Femine Hygiene commercials
Halloween Reboot
Cannibal Campout Reboot
Enterbay Commercials
Your Wedding

everything....everywhere :lol

You specifically forgot to mention Viagra commercials. :lecture

I agree with Jye, it is time for something new, and, as much as I love the Williams score, we all saw what happened the last time someone didn't distance what they were doing from those films... At the end of the day, the Williams score isn't going anywhere. It's not as though WB are going to raid your homes and erase the Williams score from history, they're simply introducing something new. If you want classic Williams, watch the classic film.

:nono Nope, it was intentionally left out. Playing that song would alleviate the need for Viagra. :lecture:lecture:lecture

Right, right. The ol' "Honey I was just reenacting the Eiffel Tower scene!" effect. Thanks for reminding me! :lol

My problem is they so easily could have made a really good Superman in the Donner mould (and thus using the Williams theme) if they had simply not recycled another ****ing Lex Luthor plot and cast a crappy Lois among other things. What were people crying out for? A supervillain. Thats the most significant change they needed to make, not necessarily taking an entirely different approach or whatever it is they're doing. I mean now its looking like we have to watch the ****ing origin story again!! Did anyone want that?? I'm really concerned that taking away Williams Superman theme is like making a Bond film with no use whatsoever for the Bond theme. Goldeneye initially tried it before they came to their senses and got John Barry to retrofit it into Eric Serra's score.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm as big a fan of Williams as there is here, probably the biggest.

But I feel Superman needs some fresh blood. I mean, before Elfman, no one could imagine a Batman without that 60's da-da da-da da-da duh... then it became hard to imagine a Batman without the big Elfman score. I find the Nolan scores utterly forgettable, and time will prove me right, but that's another story.
