Re: The Man of Steel

The only part of the new Spidey suit that bothers the heck out of me: Those weird looking silver details on his boots.

Re: The Man of Steel

Hate that new silly Spider-Man suit. The awful blue fingers, sneakers and stripes down the legs. Uggg. The kiddies eat that ____ up though because it's "new".

Re: The Man of Steel

Back to the Snyder's 300 being soulless....uh...you ever read that graphic novel? It's got zero depth, zero heart.....you know where all the heart came from in 300? Snyder. Was it great? No. Why? Because Frank ____in Millar. :lol

Now....that being said...Snyder can't do depth. But so what. Not every filmmaker needs to put depth in their films.

Re: The Man of Steel

I think comparing Snyder to Michael Bay is totally unfair. He may not be Nolan or Whedon, but I think when we look back we'll put him in the same category as Tim Burton and other visionary filmmakers who have had more hits than misses. He's not afraid of taking chances and I think the changes to Watchmen were necessary and executed perfectly. He wouldn't have been my first choice for Superman, but then Nolan wouldn't be either. My only fear is that he is "dark" and the character may be complex, but isn't dark.

Re: The Man of Steel

Michael Bay would never tackle something like Sucker Punch. He goes for the safe and easy (May be broken come 2013 with Pain and Gain...we'll see).

Snyder made an art film. A flawed, kinda crappy art film. But he tried.

I'll always give Snyder the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't let me down too much yet.

Big fan of the new suit!! Just hoping this movie kicks some major arse!

Sorry. I miss his red undies on the outside. Looks too plain without them. I guess it'll grow on me after some time.

As for Snyder, I loved "300!" Definitely an intense movie! But its was Gerard Butler's acting performance that made the film stellar! :clap

(It bad his career has gone down the tubes since...:slap)

Gerard Butler looked good because he was bathed in Fassbender's glow during shooting. Thats the power of The Fass ™, just standing in his radius makes you better. :lecture

Ron Howard's little brother could get a date and win an oscar after sharing stage time with The Fass ™. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

I heard there will be a small scene after the closing credits where Kent finds the red undies hanging on the laundry line. Ma Kent had it all that time. (cue John Williams theme).

btw: I prefer the suit with the red undie too. It looks incomplete without it.

That would be kinda funny, actually!!

Ok, unrelated to Sup's drawers, but if I were writing and directing Superman, I'd focus on making this as personal a story as possible. That's what made the original so great - loved the farm stuff as much as the Metropolis stuff later on. Also, i don't think any movie has done a good job at portraying Clark as what he is: a lonely, yet gentle and caring god-like being. Having all that power would make most of us feel pretty darn isolated.

Since Zod is apparently in this one, I am a little concerned the director is gonna focus on spectacle over substance.

This will easily be his least "dark" film yet. There are some "gritty" and "grounded" elements (mostly from the story/script) but he definitely gets Supes. This is a very different superhero flick from, say, WATCHMEN.

Re: The Man of Steel

The only thing I care about in the film is the hope that they introduce a supervillain(Darkseid for ex) and that Justice league hints get thrown out left and right...why not for example have a cameo of Green Lantern when baby Superman flys thru space maybe eveb flying past the planet OA or even introduce cameo of Batman or wayne with a television broadcast showing in regards to gotham city's crime etc...even show Green arrow in a news broadcast of Oliver Queen thought dead after years as a castaway on island is finally rescued..these are just examples...can you imagine if these were shown in this film introducing all the JLA members and done right(only taking up a minute or two of screen time) what the implications would be ...JLA!...JMHO on what this film should hopefully have...It would just kill!

Cause they need to get the film right before they start throwing hints at possible other venues first.

:cuckoo:

Let's worry about getting a hit Superman movie first before we worry about JLA Damn!
