Re: The Man of Steel

Doesn't this site have Mediators? I can't even check this thread for any relevant tidbits on SUPERMAN! Can't you dorks keep it in any of the multiple Dark Night threads preceeding this one? why don't you damn Nolanites just do us all a favour and Drink the Cool-Aid already. You've had your Batman let the Superman Fans have their Superman.

Why? Are there cases to be settled? :dunno

Re: The Man of Steel

Snyder is just a slightly more talented duplicate of Michael Bay - imo. Very good with visual flash, but very short on substance.

"Watchmen" was great because he literally had a shot-for-shot blueprint to follow - as well as story and dialogue. His reboot of "Dawn of the Dead" also benefited from having a great blueprint to work from.

"300" was visually awesome, but not much behind it (even with Miller's story as blueprint). And I watched it recently and the visuals fall apart on subsequent viewings. Same with "Sucker Punch".

My hope is that with Nolan watching over his shoulder and perhaps guiding him - "Man of Steel" can be more than just visual sizzle.

The bottom line is that when Snyder tries to do something purely of his own creation - it stinks.

So true all of it.

100% My opinion too.

Re: The Man of Steel

I am so used to the red underwear that I just can't get used to the new suit. But not an issue in the end. More worried about a kick ass story

Re: The Man of Steel

I want to see a huge overblown action special effects laden epic!!! I want to see Superman and (insert villian) lay waste to city blocks in a battle so over the top it will make my eyes bleed.

Thats what I want.

NEED ACTION! Epic, unbridled, heart pounding, mind numbing action that will cripple your senses, loosen your bowels and release your bladder.

:exactly::exactly: :exactly:

Re: The Man of Steel

After the serious business Batman, I want to see mindless action galore with Superman.

I heard there will be a small scene after the closing credits where Kent finds the red undies hanging on the laundry line. Ma Kent had it all that time. (cue John Williams theme).

btw: I prefer the suit with the red undie too. It looks incomplete without it.

Yeah, I'd like to say it doesn't bother me, but Spidermans changes bothered me through the new movie. I'm not saying its a good or bad change, but its like having a childhood friend thats wore glasses their entire life pop up with contacts on. :dunno
