Re: The Man of Steel

Didn't Millar write Wanted?

Worst graphic novel I've ever laid eyes on. I hope they don't let him within 100 miles of the next Supes project.

Re: The Man of Steel

dammit there was nothing wrong with Superman Returns... just make a bloody sequel.

I'd agree. most people who find something wrong with it were just "expecting" something totally opposite of what we got.

For me, the cinematography of superman in modern times was awesome. Also, the airplane scene was one of my all time favorites.

Re: The Man of Steel

maybe I'm a big girl... but I loved the romance storyline, I liked the kid (something different), the action was fabulous (as said.. the plane crashing sequence... the effects, direction, sound effects, music... everything.. it just rocked) same with things like him flying through the city, and rolling onto his back to make a sheet of laser to melt the falling glass... i mean, how friggin cool is that?

I just loved the 'tone' of the film. I genuinley didnt want the film to end when i was in the cinema... and that very VERY rarely happens with me. I'm sad that other people didnt like it as much... it rates so highly with me.

But yeah... just give us a sequel... give us a baddy he can physically fight with to keep the public who didnt like returns happy... and get on with it!!!

And lucky they changed everything for the movie.

Agree. I didn't care much for the rehashed land plot, but the rest of the movie was good. The superkid is interesting as well.

The movie certainly looked changed for the better. Can you imagine if they'd went with that idiot's recommendation and cast Eminem and Halle Berry in the lead roles? :monkey4

Please tell me that the film didn't end like the comic did? "This is the face I make when I'm @#$%@$$#@@.........."

The only thing Eminem should be cast in is a bottomless pit! :monkey4

Re: The Man of Steel

It's been said a billion times, I know, but my number one problem with SR was the kid.

That little bastard's a huge obstacle. :monkey4

No he's not just kill him :maul then superman and losi can morn and get close....or say to hell with it and make another superman movie like the lil ^^^^ never existed....:whip

Re: The Man of Steel

Or just go with it. There's no law saying Superman cannot have a kid. [pauses for mallrats reference here]

Re: The Man of Steel

It's impossible, Lois could never have Superman's baby. Do you think her fallopian tubes could handle the sperm? I guarantee you he blows a load like a shotgun right through her back. What about her womb? Do you think it's strong enough to carry his child? He's an alien, for Christ sake. His Kyrptonian biological makeup is enhanced by earth's yellow sun. If Lois gets a tan the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. That would kill him.

:D

I agree 100%... But it was Hilarious reading someone else saying it! :lol

Also Jason would have to be Killed in the sequel by the superpowered villian! Just for the whole Last son of Kypton...

Re: The Man of Steel

My major problem with the movie was that Singer was trying too hard to stick to the first 2 movies. I grew up with those movies, and I love them, but they just don't hold up to today's discerning comic-loving, movie-going crowd. The cheese-ball Lex who wants to. . .do whatever the hell he was trying to do and the goofball Clark just don't work as well as they would have in the late 1970s.

I think Singer is a fine director, but his desire (along with that of the writers) to fit everything into the box created by Donner et al. just did not work for me. I assume that this was the case for others as well.

I also agree about the alien Superbaby. The chances that another alien civilization on another side of the galaxy would be able to reproduce with a human is beyond infinitesimally small. It was also a stupid plot device.

I see your point, however I felt like I was watching a Lois lane movie with Superman & Clark as the supporting cast... Also, I blame the direction for this, Lois & Clark's relationship was the worst representation of it ever... in any medium of Superman history. They should banner and be friends... Lois was far too submissive of Clark and it ruined the movie for me. Lois has to see Clark as a solid friend and love him as Clark. I found the the Lois in SR was rude and ignored him most of the time, And not Sexy at all. Also I find that whole Richard, Lois, Clark & Superman plotline too complicated to resolve nicely...

Re: The Man of Steel

Hysterical, Mike. :lol Or should I say "hysterectical". :lol

Supes load would have shot through her, then a wall and landed at least a mile away.

Uh hello? Superman didn't have his powers when he slept with Lois. That's why she didn't rip in half like Kleenex (ref. Larry Niven essay).

And everyone knows that Kryptonians aren't born with their powers on earth - they have to be exposed to the sun - not much sun in a lady's belly, so he wouldn't kick through her stomach.

But we still need a reboot.

Wasn't Nic Cage supposed to be in the "Superman Returns" movie a while back? Give me that, with the writer/director/producers of "Wicker Man" remake, and you will have at least one fan buying up a ticket for the premier.

"Not the Kryptonite, not the Kryptonite!! It's in my eyes!! AAAAAH!"
