Re: The Man of Steel

Wasn't Nic Cage supposed to be in the "Superman Returns" movie a while back? Give me that, with the writer/director/producers of "Wicker Man" remake, and you will have at least one fan buying up a ticket for the premier.

"Not the Kryptonite, not the Kryptonite!! It's in my eyes!! AAAAAH!"

Uh, no.

Please no.

Not in a million years no.

You're kidding right?

Neil LaBute isn't the greatest director or writer in the world, and Nick Cage was wrong for Clark 15 years ago - he's now 15 years wronger.

Leave it to Dave to deconstruct a quote from Mallrats instead of just laughing at it.

Re: The Man of Steel

maybe I'm a big girl... but I loved the romance storyline, I liked the kid (something different), the action was fabulous (as said.. the plane crashing sequence... the effects, direction, sound effects, music... everything.. it just rocked) same with things like him flying through the city, and rolling onto his back to make a sheet of laser to melt the falling glass... i mean, how friggin cool is that?

I just loved the 'tone' of the film. I genuinley didnt want the film to end when i was in the cinema... and that very VERY rarely happens with me. I'm sad that other people didnt like it as much... it rates so highly with me.

But yeah... just give us a sequel... give us a baddy he can physically fight with to keep the public who didnt like returns happy... and get on with it!!!

thats what I've been saying.

Re: The Man of Steel

Kevin Smith rocks. His LOTR sum up is one of the funniest things i've ever seen.

Re: The Man of Steel

For the record, I think Kate should be replaced. She came off as Bichy, cold and generally not that likeable in SR. Did she ever smile? And let's not forget anorexic.

My Pick for a new Lois would be Zoey Deschanel.

Re: The Man of Steel

I personally liked Routh though, and I hope the PTB keep him for the next installment.

I didnt like the cast at first, but I liked it after watching it. She's hot at least, very hot it 21.

Re: The Man of Steel

I thought Routh was fine and would like him to return. I particularly liked his Clark. And I agree Kate was terrible. Zooey Deschanel would be great!

Re: The Man of Steel

IMO she WAS better looking when she was a little less skinny

Re: The Man of Steel

Zoey is beautiful but her sister Emily gives off more the Lois vibe than she does. I remember when Superman Returns was in PreProduction and rumors were flying that Evangeline Lilly was going to play Lois, I would still love to see that.

Re: The Man of Steel

I think Rashida Jones would be an amazing Lois,
she has the quirkiness that reminds me of Margot Kidder

She's not a big enough name. They needed a relatively unknown to play Supes, but I'm sure the producers would want a name to play Lois. Granted, Kate Bosworth isn't a HUGE star, but she was more of a name than Rashida Jones. I would enjoy all unknown actors if they can pull it off. Plus, someone whose backbones don't protrude through their skin is also a plus.

Re: The Man of Steel

Rashida Jones is beautiful but nothing about her says Lois to me. If we could choose anyone I'd go Eva Green:

She has a refined look to her but a sternness naturally in her facial structure that I always associated Lois would have to be like when actually out there working. A kind of "I don't take BS" look to her. Not to mention I've been in love with her since Casino Royale. :lol

She's got that funky accent though. Lois needs to be as American as Clark. I'm still voting for Erica Durrance.
