Re: The Man of Steel

You know whats sad about the state of Kansas. Superman is the best thing to come from the state and he's a fictional character. :lol

That sounds like Mr. Long (your Dad) talking. :lol

(By the way, all of the Kansas scenes were actually filmed in Illinois. :lol )

Isn't that the case with almost everything in movies/TV today? They're either filmed in a completely different region or they're green screened. Lies.. it's all a house of lies!!! :pfft:

Illinois gave the production some nice tax breaks. That's why most of it was filmed there (with soundstage filming in Vancouver).

Chicago now holds the pedigree of standing in for both Gotham and Metropolis.

Tax breaks and military availability. More of it would have been shot in Vancouver but they didn't have access to tanks, jets or military extras. Canada is always cheaper to film then the US even with tax breaks here but they needed the military and navel bases hence why some scenses were filmed in San Diego as well.

At least that's what I read, you probably know more then me about it

No, you explained it pretty accurately. :hi5:

On set filming was done in Vancouver because that's where Zack has shot all of his movies. There's pretty much a go-to crew already set up there.

Apart from the scene in the interrogation room, I'm wondering if they are going to go much detail about how the shield on his chest is actually a family/Kryptonian crest. Many people ignorant of the character still think it's an "S" for Superman, and don't realise the fact that the media coined the term "Superman" in reference to it's similarity to an S.

What was he called in his first run of Comics then?

Re: The Man of Steel

currious to see what Nolan does with it. Worried we're getting a "grimdark and gritty" superman. I'm ok with a "grimdark" world, but superman himself needs to reamin a shining beacon in the darkness.

A symbol for people to strive to become. his " more Human than human" mentality is as much a part of his identity, as the red S shield.
