Please No Wrestlers In Movies...they Cant Act...

I'm sorry, but I think their choice for Nick Fury is pretty damned stupid. (I don't want to ruin it for people that don't know yet). He just doesn't belong to me. Really bad choice. I think that there are plenty of other people that fit the bill much better.

They went with the Ultimate Universe version which was directly based off of the actor so in that respect it is perfect casting. :D

I like the Ultimate Universe as well. Perfect casting and a great intro!

Now I wonder if Red Skull will make an appearance in Captain America?

Downey's contract allows for Iron man 2 and then Avengers could be the 3rd one. And I'm sure they're planning on adding Hulk into the Avengers Mix - it will be the original line-up.

Unfortunately Spider-man and FF are tied up at their respective studios - although if they went with either Fox or Sony for Avengers then they could crossover.

Ugh, I really don't want (go ahead and bash if you want) the original Avengers team though. I really have no need to see Ant-Man and Wasp on the screen.

I'm more of a New Avengers, or even the West Coast expanded team of Avengers guy.

What? You didn't like Edge in that Highlander movie :rotfl

Sadly I agree. Triple H just has the Thor look already and certainly has the size needed to be a convincing Norse God. I just hope LOKI is in it as well. I wonder who they'd cast for him?

Yeah, but, I think an Ant-man movie could really be popular with the masses.

Irredeamable Ant-Man (for those who know who I'm talking about) now, that would be an awesome movie !!!

The Ant Man movie is in the pipeline as well.

(Edgar Wright's Ant-Man is also listed as being in development with no release date set.)

It'll be interesting to see if they use The Hulk films and Iron Man films to introduce the rest of the Avengers.

Its obvious that they are using the Ultimates template which has Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Giant Man, Wasp, Hawkeye and include appearances and assistance from Black Widow, Quiksilver and Scarlet Witch....

I have a feeling we'll lose the last three in the first film and that Giant Man or rather Hank Pym's character will be introduced in a Hulk film maybe even with Wasp since they are both scientists and that the only character they'll really have to introduce would be Hawkeye since Cap will have his film before the Avengers flick.

As I quoted earlier...:D

In a conference call this morning, Marvel Studios' David Maisel said that Iron Man 2 will be used to introduce Thor.

So I would say that is a good bet they will follow that formula by using cameos to introduce some of the characters.

Cool news... and glad to hear they have a clear plan on bringing the Marvel movie Uninverse together in a cohesive manner. Sounds like there's a lot of cool potential coming down the line :rock

This is great news, really makes the next few years of comic book based movies really exciting!

Triple H . . . triple NO!

Hire an actor that can be buffed up. I heard McKidd was slated to be Loki in Thor's movie.

I have to agree though . . .the cost of the our PFs (Cap America and Thor) are bound to go up!

It's a great day to be a collector.

I'm not up on my Thor info, but is Thor typically just a buffed up 6' something character or is he supposed to be like 7 or 8 feet tall too?

Maybe they can take a relatively buff guy and pull off a reverse Hobbit to make him look bigger?

Not true. Roddy Piper was great in They Live. The Rock has been very good in most of his movies too. The Rundown was great, and he was a surprisingly good dramatic actor in Gridiron Gang.

Wrestlers are actually great actors because that's what pro-wrestling is: acting. The problem is a lot of movie producers don't want to give them anything other than big, grunting He-Man type parts. But when they get a chance to really act in roles other than big muscle-bound ogres, they usually do a really good job.

But this is Thor we're talking about. It's not like they need someone with the acting chops of Sir Anthony Hopkins to pull it off. It's a big long haired guy with a hammer.

Yeah, I agree. I was a little confused by they changed Nick Fury to a bald black man but then I remembered the Ultimate Nick Fury.

The "Assembly" of Iron Man is an Ultimates thing as well where the suit is too complex to be put on by one man and he needs a whole setup in order to get in and out.
