Haha yes, a lot of criticism I see over this is pretty summed up by what you say there. I still find Ralph Bohner funny too.I never got the hate for WV. I think all the haters were just po'd that their predictions were completely wrong, so instead of just appreciating it for what it was they needed to lash out. The Ralph Bohner character still makes me smile.
Cause they sold it that way. Lol. They made it seem like this huge mystery that will have a huge impact on the mcu . It was the first Disney plus mcu show. They marketed it as this big mystery show that will change the mcu forever and give us new insight into things.I never got the hate for WV. Well maybe you're more perceptive than me, because while I knew that Wanda was grieving over Vision's death, I didn't know it was to such an extent that she'd enslave/imprison an entire town to create a fantasy world in which she, Vision and their "children" could live happily ever after. Nor did I know she would ascend to become the prophesied 'Scarlet Witch' (although that name was unspoken until WV, I'd assumed she already was). And I certainly didn't know she would obtain the Darkhold, go full on evil and ultimately dreamwalk to other dimensions to hunt the one being (America Chavez) whose power could allow her to go to these dimensions herself and be where her children actually existed. I'll grant you that WV wasn't the complete, self-contained story that many of us wanted/expected, but IMO that didn't make it less compelling. And there was a payoff, but like much of this interconnected MCU it was just further down the road. In retrospect, that really shouldn't have been all that surprising lol.Cause they sold it that way. It fell flat and built towards nothing. Why bring the xmen quicksilver into the fold if you aren’t going to do anything about it but make a stupid joke. That was a huge middle finger. Why keep building up a mystery that didn’t change anything but confirm what we already knew? The multiverse was being explored at the time but the show did nothing but confuse people with the inclusion of xmen quicksilver thinking he was another one but no he’s just some guy.
Loki handled the multiverse better than wv
Wanda took control of a town and yet again a z list character was behind all the bad things that went on with town. Then they kept acting like new characters were going to be revealed when all it led up to was some crap credit scene for the next cap marvel film and dr strange 2. There was no payoff .
Yeah I agree here. I think it's worth remembering that MCU shows like these will have self-contained stories (for example, Wanda's ark in Westview) and then will have pay-offs several shows/movies later (DS:MoM) which will in itself be self contained stories with pay-offs down the road.Well maybe you're more perceptive than me, because while I knew that Wanda was grieving over Vision's death, I didn't know it was to such an extent that she'd enslave/imprison an entire town to create a fantasy world in which she, Vision and their "children" could live happily ever after. No that’s not it what I mean is that they were building it up to connect with multiverse and make the mcu “bigger” they tried making it a mystery of who did it and what’s going on but once it was revealed it was just someone that everyone already assumed was the bad guy and the “big mystery “ wasn’t all that big. I’m just saying that marvel themselves kept pushing this like the big reveal would be crazy and change the mcu forever. I mean yes we got tie ins to dr strange 2 but it didn’t change the whole universe.Well maybe you're more perceptive than me, because while I knew that Wanda was grieving over Vision's death, I didn't know it was to such an extent that she'd enslave/imprison an entire town to create a fantasy world in which she, Vision and their "children" could live happily ever after. Well, Agatha in the end was just a minor, supporting "bad guy" who was trying to siphon off Wanda's powers for herself, while the real villain was indeed Wanda all along. They took one of the principal heroes from the victory over Thanos and his army in Endgame and put her on a dark path from which she (seemingly) didn't recover. Maybe it wasn't a crazy development that changed the MCU but it certainly subverted expectations in that it deviated from the standard Marvel recipe. The Scarlet Witch knew not to bring him into the picture. If he rebelled against Wanda taking over a small town I'm guessing he'd be none too pleased with SW killing America Chavez and universe hopping as she pleased, consequences be damned lol. Also the only Vision around is White Vision, and SW is lactose intolerant.DS2 didn’t even have Vision
Yeah, they rock!Caught up on episodes 2 and 3 and still loving every second!
Characters are all so real. Loved the illumen-aunties line!
