Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man
That would be a big no.

I'm not a comic book reader so I know nothing about anyone else being Spider-Man other than Peter Parker lol.
Going withe Miles instead of Peter would be a good way of avoiding the reboot issue. Three versions of Peter in a decade in a half is alot. but doing Miles is fresh and would remove that issue

I wouldn't be shocked if they continue with it simply to have more opportunity for cash. Sinister Six could be done without a connection to anything Marvel films and be fine. Venom on the other hand might be off depending on which version Marvel wants to use. Rumors are they could use the Flash Thompson version in Guardians as he is popular in the books right now.
Donald as Spidey began trending last night. Marvel in the books is going really big in the diversity realm and it looks like Miles Morales is joining Peter in continuity after the summer event. It's possible that if they don't replace they add to somehow and have both running around. There is a big push for them to use Miles right now. Even Bendis (his creator) is weighing in.

Which is why ultimately why I think Sony agreed. Pascal said Spider-Man is her legacy. With as big of a screw-up has she has had, I would imagine a little fan service and making Spider-Man hugely profitable again is her version of Spin Control
Do African Americans actually want a black Spider-Man? I'd think they wouldn't. I wouldn't want Falcon or Black Panther or Cyborg to be white for instance. I don't like it when "diversity" trumps storytelling. If Marvel wants more black heroes, just make them. They aren't limited to just the icons of the past. Nobody knew who Star-Lord was two years ago and now he's a household name.
Agent Coulson could have been black or Asian...if they wanted more diversity. Create new film characters. In fact, create new superheroes. Also, why when people talk about diversity, it's always black/African American? There are more groups out there that are under represented. Native Americans, Asians, Europeans, Middle Easters...hell Hispanics are the largest minority in the US, and you don't see anyone complaining.
I'm actually surprised they didn't make Wasp hispanic or asian if Evangaline Lilly actually ends up being Wasp.
