Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

No, he can't take on Thanos...but then again, neither can the Avengers, especially Widow and Hawkeye [emoji38]
Yeah that's true I just see spiderman as in his own world all his most famous story archs are when he is taking on his own villians.

The rest of the Avengers were no were near as popular as him he was so much more popular and did not need to roped in with them.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

The marvel universe interacted in some way with most of spiderman's story archs. Secret wars, civil war, and others I cant name at the moment.

Sony Still Moving Ahead With SINISTER SIX, VENOM, And More...Without Kevin Feige's Involvement

So, just how much did getting Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and (probably) Avengers: Infinity War cost Marvel Studios? Nothing. Sony aren't getting paid for loaning him out either, and there are also no plans for Marvel to receive a cut of the box office from any future Spider-Man films. Similarly, Sony won't be compensated with a percentage of the revenue Disney makes from their releases featuring the wall-crawler either. Instead, both studios are relying on the box office boost that the character's involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe will provide them.

Kevin Feige meanwhile also isn't being paid for helping to revive the franchise for Sony according to Variety's report. They too report that a younger Peter Parker is being looked for, and that he WILL indeed return to high school. Here's the worrying part though. "The studio is still moving forward with the Spider-Man villain-centric “Sinister Six,” and “Venom” spinoff, as well as a film that features female characters in the “Spider-Man” universe. “The Amazing Spider-Man 3″ has been cancelled. While Marvel’s Feige is involved with Sony’s new “Spider-Man” films, he currently is not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs, sources say." Should we be worried?

It's hard to imagine Sony souring their relationship with Marvel by releasing a string of mediocre spinoffs, and how can Feige NOT be involved with them when he's helping to steer the 2017 Spider-Man movie? They'll take place in the same world after all, but if Sony do suddenly decide to release a Sinister Six movie without Spidey and a Venom movie from the chump who wrote The Amazing Spider-Man 2, perhaps we're getting a bit too excited too soon about this deal? Let's hope not!

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Looks like they're definitely going the ultimate route with this Spider-Man since they're bringing him back to high school and I'm guessing SHEILD will play a major role in Spider-Man jointing the Avengers.

Venom makes sense as spin-off. S6 would work as an event movie for Spider-Man to face all of them perhaps with the help of Daredevil, Iron Fist or other street level heroes.

I'd much rather they develop Spidey with other street-level heroes and form a New Avengers flick instead of putting him with the main Avengers where he doesn't fit

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Sony still wanting to do those films reminds me of when a Dad or a Mom tells their son/daughter not to do something....for their own good, but the kid does it anyway :slap

A daredevil/Spidey flick battling the S6 would be a dream come true. I agree I would rather see Spidey team up with the Defenders over The Avengers.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Until Sony actually announces a cast and director for S6 or Venom or whatever other spinoffs they can concoct, I wouldn't read too much into this yet. They probably haven't killed these developments in case they can salvage something from them to use for the MCU reboot, but I expect these to be s***canned in the upcoming months. Once pre-production work begins on the solo Spidey and Sony announces their Spider-Man reboot slate for the next few years, we'll have a better idea on where they take this franchise. Personally I find it hard to believe Marvel Studios would allow them to pursue spinoffs set in their MCU playground that they're not a part of creatively.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

I hope Marvel Studios gets casting choice, and Sony want to go with another Origin story and a younger Spiderman :ohbfrank: This is exactly why they suck

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

That's what I thought. Did you guys ever wish there were more Hispanic superheroes? I can't even think of one off the top of my head.

Vibe, Blue Beetle III, Miles Morales Spidey (half), and, if we're talkin' old school, Zorro, hisself.

Not really, I was always happy with the Marvel characters as they were written. The only Hispanic character that comes to mind is Sunspot from the New Mutants. :D

Haaaa see! I knew this was going to happen. You just can't trust Sony man... you just know they will screw this up. Marvel dropped the ball by pushing their other MCU titles and they will pay dearly for it.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

White Tiger was a Puerto Rican superhero...but he was killed trying to escape from prison. How's that for a heroic death? Thanks Marvel :lol

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Yeah, and that's why I never "get" the whole "change an established character's race for the sake of diversity" thing. Who ever wants a character switched to his/her race? Hard Boiled with white guys? Lame! Blade as a white guy? Lame! Buddy cop movies with both partners white? Stupid! :lol

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Well if all goes like planned then Sony's universe shouldn't be getting crushed considering it will be in the same universe as Marvel's and Spidey will likely show up in those spinoffs.

Yeah watch Marvel completely postpone four tentpole pictures to make way for Sony's....Aunt May prequel. :lol

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

What happens when the Marvel movies crush the Sony ones at the box office

They won't. Here is why:

The Russos CIVIL WAR will turn Spidey into a billion dollar franchise, then SONY will be like "Thanks for the Spidey advertisement. Now with Spidey in the MCU fame, we got it from here."

People will line up to see the movie with the Spiderman that was in the same movie with IM and Captain America.

Marvel and Disney is going to get ****ED! What were they thinking? This was Kevin Feige first mistake, and it may have been a big one!
