Marvel and Disney is going to get ****ED!

How? Even if solo Spidey movies start making a billion domestic, how on earth does that translate to people suddenly not liking Cap and IM especially if they exist in a shared universe? I just don't see the logic there.

Yeah, and that's why I never "get" the whole "change an established character's race for the sake of diversity" thing. Who ever wants a character switched to his/her race? Hard Boiled with white guys? Lame! Blade as a white guy? Lame! Buddy cop movies with both partners white? Stupid!

Same here. But some people love to **** things up just for the sake it.

They won't. Here is why:

The Russos CIVIL WAR will turn Spidey into a billion dollar franchise,then SONY will be like "Thanks for the Spidey advertisement. Now with Spidey in the MCU fame, we got it from here."

People will line up to see the movie with the Spiderman that was in the same movie with IM and Captain America.

Jeez, tell us how you REALLY feel about Sony You make it sound like Sony worked out a deal with Marvel Enterprises from the 90s, today's Marvel Studios has a lot more clout at the bargaining table and has surely covered their *****. Sony can't do jack in the MCU without Marvel Studios' permission. Also if Sony calls it quits on the co-production deal they'll need to reboot yet again, under a co-production deal both sides should have ownership over MCU Spidey.

I meant in a way that Sony is going mess this up and diminish the value of the MCU brand. Just watch, the mediocrity of the Sony movies we have grown accustomed with will jeopardize the MCU. One bad movie, one disagreement and then we end up with a mess up continuity.

Sony Still Moving Ahead With SINISTER SIX, VENOM, And More...Without Kevin Feige's Involvement

So, just how much did getting Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and (probably) Avengers: Infinity War cost Marvel Studios? Nothing. Sony aren't getting paid for loaning him out either, and there are also no plans for Marvel to receive a cut of the box office from any future Spider-Man films. Similarly, Sony won't be compensated with a percentage of the revenue Disney makes from their releases featuring the wall-crawler either. Instead, both studios are relying on the box office boost that the character's involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe will provide them.

Kevin Feige meanwhile also isn't being paid for helping to revive the franchise for Sony according to Variety's report. They too report that a younger Peter Parker is being looked for, and that he WILL indeed return to high school. Here's the worrying part though. "The studio is still moving forward with the Spider-Man villain-centric “Sinister Six,” and “Venom” spinoff, as well as a film that features female characters in the “Spider-Man” universe. “The Amazing Spider-Man 3″ has been cancelled. While Marvel’s Feige is involved with Sony’s new “Spider-Man” films, he currently is not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs, sources say." Should we be worried?

It's hard to imagine Sony souring their relationship with Marvel by releasing a string of mediocre spinoffs, and how can Feige NOT be involved with them when he's helping to steer the 2017 Spider-Man movie? They'll take place in the same world after all, but if Sony do suddenly decide to release a Sinister Six movie without Spidey and a Venom movie from the chump who wrote The Amazing Spider-Man 2, perhaps we're getting a bit too excited too soon about this deal? Let's hope not!

So we get a 3rd Spiderman stand alone universe to choose from w/ Sinister Six and Venom, and Spidey can stand alone along side Iron Man and Cap etc. really not seeing any loss in this at all. Even Garfield gets to keep Emma Stone. Everyone comes out happy tbh.

Yeah man, I know I have been negative but I just think SONY will mess this up. They are not going to bow down to Marvel/Disney and this deal is going to backfire in the MCU.

Especially here So Cal, most Latinos don't want a characters ethnicity changed. Just find someone who looks the part and can at least act. Yeah I've never really cared if there were any Latin characters. I'm more interested in a good representation of the original from the comics.

Oh do you mean like how McFarlane and Liefeld initially intertwined Spawn's origin with Chapel's and then McFarlane got so disgusted with Liefeld that he had to retcon Chapel out of the series?
