Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Looking forward to this. If Sony wants to keep dropping the ball, then I'm all for it.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Are those guys naturally funny and witty? Because that's a big part of the character that they haven't gotten right yet. There has to be a young RDJ out there.

I can't speak for Logan but O'Brian is pretty funny. I don't watch Teen Wolf but his sarcastic, nerdy banter as Stiles makes the rounds on Tumblr and the like and is pretty funny.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Logan is a terrific actor, and he kinda has the wittiness going on, judging in his part of the 3 musketeers.

Completely agree with this all the way. I'm a Dylan fan and he was pretty great with what he was given in The Internship.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

please not high school/college Peter Parker again

I think keeping Spider-man in high school/college LONGER was one of the best things about the reboot. Raimi's series rushed through his high school years. Plus, some of Spidey's BEST stories come from being in the high school environment.

In the original "Ultimate Spider-man" comic series, Parker was in high school throughout and Bendis did a great job writing some funny moments. Plus, it's a stark contrast to all the other adult heroes in the MCU. A young Peter Parker will be like the audience, the Avengers are HIS heroes, he read about Captain America in the MCU history books, being involved with the team is like a dream come true for him, and during all the "adult" conversations...there's Spidey to fire off clever one-liners (aside from RDJ's Tony Stark) and funny quips.

My hope is they stick with PETER PARKER. I know Miles Morales is the new and "hip" Ultimate Spider-man, but Spidey will ALWAYS be Peter Parker to me and it should damn well be Peter Parker that is Spider-man in the MCU.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Thank you the interview for making Kim jun un rage and hack sony so we can get spiderman in the MCU. We should send this man kate perry.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

I'd be ok with sticking with Garfield. He did what he could with crappy material.

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

So can Norman Osborne be the real Iron Patriot now?

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

It's a shame we have to go back to High School once again. Can they at least find a guy who looks like a bit of a nerd? Tobey pulled that look off, but Andrew didn't.

If they keep Spidey always as a kid, that's who he will appeal to. I'm not a teenager anymore, so my interest in watching teen drama has gone. I think of Spidey as more of a kids superhero than any of the other Avengers.

Ultimate spiderman had some OK story archs , but I still would consider the main story line as being better that's were all his major villains were revealed and stuff.

I think he can still have all the characteristics that make him spider man as an adult, but I don't feel we need to see him go through high school again. It still to fresh in my mind what Garfield did and his interactions with his aunt and Gwen they need to move on.

I am also not in favor of a hard reboot and being aged will help with that

Re: OFFICIAL: Marvel Studios Spider-Man

Yet another thing Raimi got right - high school stuff took like 10-15 minutes.
No one complained. :lol

Latino Review:

I'm sitting here watching The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe you hated it, maybe you didn't. The point is that it doesn't really matter now, because the planets have aligned and two rival studios have...

(Sorry had to switch over to ABC for Agent Carter)
... Two rival studies were able to sit down and hash out a deal that was mutually beneficial for each of them.
Basically, Sony is going to reboot Spider-Man again (this time with a younger actor, sorry Andrew Garfield) and he will be a part of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
According to Variety Marvel's Kevin Feige is not involved in the Spider-Man spinoff films.
The studio is still moving forward with the Spider-Man villain-centric “Sinister Six,” and “Venom” spinoff, as well as a film that features female characters in the “Spider-Man” universe. “The Amazing Spider-Man 3″ has been cancelled. While Marvel’s Kevin Feige is involved with Sony’s new “Spider-Man” films, he is currently not expected to be creatively involved with the spinoffs, sources say.
But what are the terms of the deal? Surprisingly, it's not costing either studio a dime. Marvel and Sony realized it would be better for all if they just shared the character.
Sony will get their solo Spidey movies, which may have cameos from other Avengers; and Marvel gets to have him in the big team up movies, with possible appearances in their heroes' solo outings.
As The Hollywood Reporter said, its all very "quid pro quo" with no money changing hands.
In other words, each studio gets the added benefits of having their characters appears in the other franchises.
