Nothing about Flash's character requires him to be white. He's a 2017 bully at a smart school. A jock/athletic Flash shouldn't be intimidating to Peter; he'd just kick his ass. But a financially superior Flash that also has decent jokes and jabs at Peter, that's something he can't compete with. That's a better bully for Peter and doesn't require Flash to be white.

a bully. lolz

thats like bringing a chihuahua in a dog fight

True indeed .... lots of puny internet bullies out there ha

And that's EXACTLY how Flash was in this movie. Dumb jokes and quick comebacks. Making accusations and demands of Peter that neither could prove. And Peter couldn't physically do a thing about it. That's the internet bully for today's world.

That is more correct. Thank you.

However the fact that every studio is trying to do the same thing is a bit stupid. I don't mind Kong and Godzilla but the Universal Monster idea is a bit much.. Perhaps I would not feel that way if The Mummy did not suck as much as it did :lol

Yes, the overuse of 'universe-building' has replaced the overuse of Trilogy building.

I didn't mind him, but really the only thing he had in common with the flash thompson character was his name. There's no reason he couldn't have been named Bob. Would have made 0 difference.

I don't like her little white space she speaks from. She needs a poster or something. Looks like she's sneaking her reviews out from her cubicle as a customer service rep. I feel like she should be giving me competitive insurance quotes. Or maybe doing something naughty.

Soon you will be addicted to Grace, soon you'll sacrifice family time for Grace's analysis.

Like some of you, I don't care for the casting of some of Peter's classmates. I'm sorry, I also dislike this whole "diversity" casting push we've seen. I don't mind classic characters like Ned Leeds being Pete's buddy, or even Flash as an Indian kid. But Flash should've been more of a physical presence/bully, I know he eventually becomes friends with Peter (we see this a lot in the Ultimate Spidey comic)...but why is this scrawny kid pushing him around? I felt like even a non-powered Parker could knock him out.

As someone who went to high school with affluent people, I can understand how someone who comes from money can 'hold the power' so to speak.

At first I thought similar to you, I was just used to Flash being bigger, and being physically intimidating, but that's kind of an old cliche at this point, so it was interesting to see them change it up. . . once I thought back on my experiences, and realized it wasn't that outlandish.

Apparently her only qualification is keeping mascara companies in business.
