It sounds like somebody is way over-thinking this.

To come all this 'way' and then go with someone other than Parker? That's comical to say the least. You've got Marvel's biggest character finally 'coming home' and to do that would be an extreme disappointment for those who grew up with Peter Parker - the same guy who's literally been the focus of 99% of all Spider-Man comic books.

And this is coming from a guy with a Miguel O'Hara signature and avatar (and user name for that matter!) Go with Parker, please. Don't over think this.

Peter and MJ had the greatest relationship in comics, and then they....it's been almost 8 years and it's still too soon. I gave post "that day" a chance, and they made Peter into a clown.

Just...be good to him Marvel. Please don't let Dan Slott near it. If they establish Peter as being married in the upcoming film, I'd be so happy. That won't happen though.

If they do Miles they have to establish origin. CW is already too crowded to flesh that out too. I can't see them not using Parker.

I agree. Just picture the marketing campaign. "He's coming home!!!!!" And then they show Spidey ripping off his mask to reveal...a black guy. It'd be like something out of a Wayans Brothers movie. Not what Marvel/Disney would be going for.

I also stated over and over that Garfield was great. They better be ****ing around. If it ends up being Morales I'll be pissed. If it ends up being Parker but black, I'll be pissed. If they do either as a latino, I will be super pissed. They better erase that thought from their plans.

Seriourly though, It's really ****ing stupid, if they want diversity don't change the ethnicity of established characters, better flesh out characters that are already diverse (but not in this case, I want Peter Parker).

But it's no new argument, execs want to pander to the radical minds of social justice warriors, they will mutilate characters in order to keep their raging numbers pleased.

I watched the video, and the guy acts coy, as if he has insider knowledge, but doesn't outright say that he feels the way he does because he was told this by someone at Sony. His language suggests that this is just his gut feeling.

Sony and Marvel strike deal, no money involved.

Sony reboots, recasts, makes it Miles.

Fan outrage.

Marvel decides not to put him in Civil War/Avengers.

Sony has just canned their most successful franchise for nothing and rebooted it for a 3rd time with a character nobody wanted.

I think it's genius. Marvel is going to put Sony out of business once and for all and reclaim what's belongs to them for real.

Seriously, once Sony recasts the role, they are completely at Marvel's mercy.

Nah bro, as a Mexican, I just would be even more pissed because it's like trying to appeal to the Hispanic. It's like nah man, we are good. Keep **** like it is. I don't want them to appeal cause they feel it's a race thing. That's like getting an adaptation of Uncle Tom's Cabin, but with Asian immigrants.

If true, and I doubt it is, it a really stupid move on Sony/Marvel's part.

Miles Morales is fine but he's not the Spider-Man the majority of fans want to see, Peter Parker is.
