Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Spidey fighting Iron Man to pass a test to join that team? Man that sounds like **** way to force him onto the team, not to mention that with Cap 3 and now Spidey Iron Man has overtaken Wolverine in the over-exposure stakes

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I don't think spectacular spiderman title is 100 percent confirmed.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I probably would have gone just "Spider-Man:_______" Similar to the way they handle short term titles. Something like "Spider-Man: The Hunt" or "Spider-Man: The Sinister Six" or something like that would have been fine. Although I guess it's better than "Web of Spider-Man" or "The Marvelous Adventures of Spider-Man"
They should call the new films "Marvel Teamup: Spider-Man and ________" and he. . .teams up with a new guy every movie. First film should obviously be based on this:

I believe this happened in the first season of the Ultimate Spider-Man show which I absolutely hated.

I'm pretty sure Spidey would fail the test in the beginning of the movie, which then leads to the rest of the solo Spidey film. It's a fun way to tie him in with the rest of the MCU and has the right kind of humor to start off a Spidey film. If they follow the classic storyline, Spidey is bummed out because he almost joins the avengers numerous times, but always ends up solo. (up until modern day New Avengers era) In MCU he probably won't truly join the Avengers until fighting Thanos.

spiderman is slowly becoming the james bond of comic book movies.lolz

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

I highly doubt they won't go with a white Peter Parker spidey, the fact that fanboys have been cream dreaming about this for years,to come this close and not give us the real spidey would be a kick in the you know what's.it just won't happen, spidey will be white, maybe a few years down the line they will introduce miles but to skip Peter and go straight to miles would cause an uproar.marvel seemed to work really hard to make this happen,I doubt they would take the chance of controversy by skipping the original spidey

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

Miles isn't showing up in a movie anytime soon, we will get white Peter Parker.

I don't even know why people still think it could be Miles we're getting in this film, the announcement from Marvel all but confirmed that they were using Peter Parker.

Honestly, if the skip Ben and Kaine with clone saga and bring in Miles, no lie I will be dissapointed.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN

People who are crying for miles don't even know who he is they just want him cuz he's black and they think it makes them look cool to call for a black spidey. Miles is a great character but don't do it right now...... That'd be a big f u to the fans to get spidey back only to put in a character who only had like what? Three yrs of story? Absurd.

Exactly everyone knows who Spider-Man is and when it comes to miles most people don't even know he exists in the comics.

In an interesting development, Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo have entered into a three-year first-look deal for feature films with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Though no specific projects are mentioned, given the duo's Marvel background there's a possibility they'll be involved in Sony's future Spider-Man/Spidey spin-off plans in some capacity, once the character makes his Marvel debut.

Speaking of which, the trades mention that the Webhead is indeed "expected" to make his first appearance for the studio in Captain America: Civil War, which the Russos will also direct. Not 100% confirmation, but it looks like a safe bet at this point. Here's what the brothers had to say about the deal: "We’re thrilled to make a home at Sony Pictures, and to be partnering with the entire team. The studio has created an environment that is not only collaborative, but truly filmmaker-friendly and we’re excited to begin developing both new and ambitious material with them." Apparently Drew Goddard is only taking meetings about the Spider-Mandirecting gig at the moment, so there's always the possibility someone could nab it the last minute. We'll keep you updated.

Thank goodness. Those hacks belong at Sony. Hopefully this means no more Marvel U movies.

Dylan O'Brien seems like a good choice. Nerdy looking enough, young enough. I saw him in The Internship, not an amazing role but he was pretty good as a nerd with some attitude.
