Until the introduce the next big bad that makes Thanos looks like a *****, I’m not really interested in much from the MCU now.

No Way Home has my interest because I’ve loved Spidey all my life.
Love & Thunder because Taika is an insanely talented filmmaker.
Galactus is that big bad.

NWH will probably be my first venture back into theaters since the China Virus.

I sure do hope he’s the big smoke monster from Lost again
They won't be making that mistake.

I see an alert that you liked my post, but I can't like anyone in this thread. I seen the option is only for premium members, or at least was said so by admin. Guess that is still being worked out. Sucks, I sure like that feature.

Plenty of episodes left to ruin the show. Remember FWS started this way and went down hill. Got to stick the landing.
Nah, FWS had a good first 1/4 on the first episode. The next good episode in that series came somewhere in the middle. Overall, that entire series was forgettable.

Seriously though, you're right. It's 1 out of 6 good so far. Let's hope the other 5 (or at least the majority of it) sticks the landing.

F&WS started out meh and then finally hit a high note with episode 4. It's a shame they basically dropped the ball on almost every account in the last two episodes. If the whole show had been like episode 4, it would have gotten a "thumbs up" from me.

Episode was alright, nothing special.

This is how I regard the MCU in general. I've watched all the films, and probably most of the series, though I gave up on WandaVision after the quirkiness wore off.

Watching them is akin to ticking them off a list. I just can't feel invested in that world or with those characters any more. They can be an entertaining distraction, but not something I get the urge to revisit.

I liked the quirky aspects of Loki, and the first few episodes of WandaVision. In general I don't find the MCU a 'page turner', unlike series such as The Umbrella Academy, Doom Patrol or Gotham.

I liked both WandaVision and TFWS, but they were too inconsistent to be great. Part of that might have been due to COVID as well, as things were re-shot or rewritten.

Loki first episode was great. My only hope is it stays strong the whole series, and doesn't become generic like WandaVision did.

Time, why did it have to be Time? Loki after Loki? and worst of all, Owen.

anyway it looks well done except for the CGI.. but what else in on, on Wednesday night.

The green screen when they're looking out to the big timey whimey city doesn't look very good when its a shot of them standing in front of it. That part clearly wasn't shot on the Volume.

Samba TV reports that Lokis Wednesday premiere drew 890K U.S. households, which the third-party streaming stat org said is “the largest US premiere-day audience for any of Marvel’s Disney+ shows.”

Loki‘s 890k households best the first day of The Falcon and the Winter Solider (759k) and WandaVision (655k). Loki‘s viewership also bests the 4-day premiere weekend of Cruella on Disney+, however, that pic was available to subscribers at $29.99.

The show itself is well made and acted, but the entire concept of it really just devalues the entirety of the MCU and actions of the characters and outcomes have now become defined as destiny. It removes all sense of weight from everything. It makes all the past stories utterly pointless. This feels like MCUs poor ripoff of Umbrella Academy, except Umbrella Academy is actually a great original show that you want to watch week after week. And if something went awry, the TVA cleans it up. Never saw a show that decided to **** on its past so much.

I’m surprised y’all aren’t crapping on this like The Eternals, because it is the same thing but much much worse.

Infinity Stones as dime a dozen and used as paperweights? Welp, there goes the importance of the Infinity Saga.

TVA allowing half the universe to be wiped out?

Three space lizards basically are now the most powerful members of the MCU and all actions have been pre-determined as the right timeline.

Marvel is 0/3 on D+ shows. I’ll pretend this exists outside of canon and is just a popcorn Loki flick.

Plus I think there is the Hiddleston factor. TH > Mackie and Olsen combined.

Ah, just catching up on the gender fluid stuff. Big difference in actual ability to change genders as the God of Mischief and then identifying as bisexual and the modern issue of being “gender fluid.” Good to know they twisted him over the last five years to fit their fantasies.

For me this is a wait and see thing. We don't know if this series does that because it could very well end up differently. It's a time travel story afterall so if it ends up branching off to a multiverse (meaning the TVA loses control), then I don't think it devalues anything but rather expands the MCU to new possibilities.

I just bought the Blade 4K today at Best Buy and I'll watch that instead. :rock

Didn't give it that much thought; or, didn't think it devalued anything - comics reboot stories, go off on tangents - and anyway in theory the TVA is something so huge and remote in concept. End Game managed to torpedo a lot when you start thinking about it too.

And I won't, because not a fan of messing with time - IMO it's right up there with authors suddenly having characters with ESP - because mainly the writer couldn't come up with anything better. Except for stuff like Dr. Who where the whole concept IS playing with time, and at least Dr. Who didn't necessarily make things right, always.

Anyway finally caught this last night; IMO has its issues but overall pretty happy after getting singed with FWS. Like the sort of 1950s-early 60s government aesthetic (a lot of my family worked in government/military - I use this old battered metal desk lamp as a work light that must be from back then - weighs like 10 lbs). Hiddleston and Wilson are great.

Dunno if I can feel relieved yet, as the first episode of FWS was pretty good, but looking forward to more Loki. There was cheeky stuff that had me laugh outright.
