Had Civil War on Netflix in the background while working tonight. Interesting exchanges that - intentionally or not - sum up the main theme of Black Panther in about 15 seconds.

After 11 Wakandans are killed in Nigeria, KIng T'chaka:

"Our peoples' blood is spilled on foreign soil. Not only because of the actions of criminals, but by the indifference of those pledged to stop them. Victory at the expense of the innocent is no victory at all."

Peter Parker, when asked why he does what he does:

"When you can do the things that I can, but you don't - and then the bad things happen...they happen because of you."

Wakanda forever!

Yep, nice (and superior) summary of what BP took 2+ hours to say.

Kind of like the entire SW PT being summed up in one meme:

lol

FFS, can we all at least agree that this was a good film in that it didn't treat its characters like total jokes ala Wreck-narok and for not being completely dull and forgettable like Dorktor Strange? I mean come on, you've gotta give Coogler some credit for adding real suspense.

Its a fantastic film.

Don't let the three posters in this thread who keep arguing it's not and hilariously tout CW as the superior movie bring your enthusiasm about it down.

Same dudes thought TLJ was a good movie (lmao).

I don't want Chakor's enthusiasm or yours diminished. I think it's great (surprising that it may be) that you connected with this film. Some of us are just having fun with the movie's TPM parallels. Pay us no mind. ;)

I will always love the female characters in this movie. I think they might be my favorite characters of all Marvel movies. Specially the sister, she was very likable and funny.

They were a lot tougher and more likable than Black widow any day. I am grateful to the director for doing that and for bringing them into the movie and for giving them great roles. they were tough, they were strong, they were beautiful. they were amazing.

Michael B Jordan still is the best Marvel villain and his death is a great waste of a character. A HUGE waste.

It bothers me that Thanos is just around the corner, I wish this movie came out 4 years ago so that Killmonger could have lived and come back. Michael B jordan is the best thing about this. he was amazing.

It makes me sad he was wasted in that Fantastic 4 movie. he needs to get a role in DC as green lantern or something. I want to see him get a franchise. He made the movie better.

Wakanda is still STUPID as HELL

lol @ all the PT jokes...cgi spinning that’s a good trick, oh man lol!

Logan even with that silly 3rd act blows BP away.

I hope Thanos wipes out all the tribes.

Question, what happens if Thanos were to eat one of those magical flowers?

And then hit with a gamma bomb? And then bit by a radioactive spider? And then full vibranium armor made for him?

It doesn’t matter. BP has the superhero royal flush. Rich, expert fighter, superpowered salad, most advance tech, an army, battle cat rhinos, spine pills, ghost therapy, cool cars...you name it.
