Is BP the first and only super hero character to debut with a billion dollars? Is there another one that's made a billion in their first outing? Also, it still has a 97% on RT, which makes it the highest rated super hero film ever, beating TDK. :lol

I 've seen some websites comparing Killmonger to Ledger's joker and asking who's the better villain... :thud:

True, but do you really think everyone is going to be saying this is the best CBM since TDK five years from now? So what if people think it's great now? That sort of praise tends to wear off quickly (I remember people saying AoU was better than A1 back in 2015, now look at how many people agree with that blasphemous lie :lol).

Plus you can trust Rotten Tomatoes about as much as you can trust our POTUS.

Civil War did break a billion worldwide.

Sad. :lol

No, there are a lot of "next TDK or better", Avengers, TWS, CW, Logan, WW, and now BP, but you're right, it doesn't last very long and TDK remains on top, but still, the financial success, cultural impact (at least in the US), and critical acclaim might give BP an edge over the other contenders that failed to top TDK.

The Nolan trilogy will age better than just about every MCU film. BP's cgi doesn't even look great now, so in a few years it will look really bad. IW better be careful not to over do it with the CGI battles.

You were never going to see this movie in the first place. Regardless of how good or bad the CG was going to be. But you'll sure type about it.

Well, THAT isn't true.:cuckoo: Seems like for a long time I was one of the few with interest on the board...

as this thread slid to the back...

Not my fault if Coogler or Marvel decided to emphasize some stuff, distance BP from the MCU, and lose some tickets. Or if the hype ended up with so much footage released. Or if cast lists and trailers are published so re BP you already know you're gonna end up where you started. Or if *insanely* even supposedly being part of the MCU and being aware of TWS, CW, Ragnarok, and Antman, Coogler opted to NOT pay attention to the CGI. Or the gaping hole of BP already being THE BP in CW but he's not until he gets beat up and has a juice drink or something like that...or that fight scene and not one guy uses a *primitive* gun...

So yeah, that article did it for me. As well as seeing the Ragnarok BP, where there are *some* moments IMO that needed tweaks, but overall IMO Waititi had his hand on the wheel re every detail. Underneath the *fun* is a tight, well-edited movie.

What do you care if people comment on the film? Or how much? Am sure it's still playing, u can take your 20$ and spend more time with the CGI rhinos and ground-breaking green screen work, waiting for the especially stellar moments when verbal shots are taken at white people (unlike every other MCU film that fell over itself to be diverse). Enjoy!:pfft:

Ledger’s Joker, Chicago real locations and real Tumbler and Batpod driving on real streets is why TDK will indeed remain iconic BUT the MCU as a whole what it was able to accomolish is what gives it historic importance.

They each have their reasons why they are iconic.

But yes I agree about the cgi.

Obviously the movies can’t exist without it BUT I feel that as Marvel rakes in the billions they’re actually getting cheap and lazy to film on real locations which has now culminated in their movies looking way too synthetic and yes that includes IW based off that trailer.

Agreed on all points. Thank God that LFL's division is autonomous from Marvel. Those location shots of Jyn and Cassian spying on the city from the peaks of Jordan make all the difference in selling Jedha as a real place. It's ridiculous that Marvel can't make Earth look as real as fictional planets, lol.

Yeah seriously and you know what it is Khev more than just money it’s because they’re cranking them out so fast that location scouting alone would interfere in their hectic 3 movies a year plan forget flying everyone around the world to the set.
