Since WS is my fav MCU character I'm happy, tho IMO it sells short what might've been e.g. a discussion between T'Challa and Bucky; an appearance by Cap or talking about what Cap would do next - just SOMETHING. Kinda irritating this film seems to work so hard to be "stand-alone" for me - Ragnarok and Homecoming weren't like that. Credit scenes could've showed BW or Wanda, too.

Whatever; is what it is.

Like we said above, though, there are still two post-credits scenes and the first one acts as a conclusion of sorts, to wrap up the story. It sees T’Challa at the UN, essentially telling the world that Wakanda is coming out of hiding and will be sharing their tech with the rest of the globe, in order to make planet Earth a better place. There’s no significant tease for a sequel or any other Marvel film here. Instead, it’s simply just a sound epilogue for the movie itself.

As for the second one, well, that’s where fans will get their tease. In the scene that comes after the final credits roll, we’re taken to a village in Wakanda, which seems to be off the beaten path and away from the main city. As the camera focuses on a hut, we hear a group of children playing inside before we see Shuri yell at them, telling the kids to leave the man inside alone.

They run outside and as they do, we see just who this man is. None other than Bucky Barnes comes into view, as the Winter Soldier himself steps out of the hut and into the open – sans an arm. Shuri greets him and asks how he’s feeling. He tells her he’s much better and she says she’s happy, as there’s a lot more to learn. Then, they walk off together as the screen goes black.

It’s not much, as you can probably tell, but it is a nice little set-up for Avengers: Infinity War, which is the next MCU movie to arrive after this one and will feature Shuri, Bucky and Wakanda all quite prominently. In fact, from what we understand, it’ll be Shuri who’s responsible for both Barnes’ new arm and rebooting him, which is teased here.

And though most fans may be upset that this post-credits scene is fairly subdued compared to some of the other more exciting ones in the franchise, it’s totally appropriate for a film like Black Panther, which again, is pretty disconnected from the wider cinematic universe. At least, compared to what we usually see when it comes to Marvel movies.

Weird tho. Was pretty sure Tony's BARF technology would be used on Bucky and there have been hints of that in Russo comments. This seems to imply Shuri was able to deal with the Hydra stuff, at least to a degree.

She's a no-character introduced by Hudlin that never went past "muh stronk womyn of colorz". Currently she's some sort of Shamanic Death Goddess or some ****. Even in the MCU she's creating Armor Seaths with the "most advanced tech in the world", and Tony's rocking the Bleeding Edge.

Call me when she rivals Reed.

*Shrug* may be comics but in the films I'd like it to be a *bit* logical *cough* e.g. Peter Parker is Shuri's age range; brilliant, and hasn't been really sheltered so there's stuff he needs to learn etc. Makes sense to me.

It doesn't make sense that you'd have a 16 year old in the Infinity War Prelude Comic #1 (tho in the comic to me, Shuri seems older) - dealing with a PTSD victim (for lack of a better way of putting it). Because, if Shuri has spent her life in peaceful Wakanda, she wouldn't even have Parker's level of life experience. No matter how smart she is. Not comfortable. Although this IS the comics.

Whatever is in the comics - I just think Feige knows the original MCU lineup is pretty beloved and is working hard to start those next phases. Which means a lot of hype. And setting up Peter Parker and Shuri to grow into roles for more films. So I kinda let some stuff roll off.

Because I might not even like the MCU next phases. Feige has to plan ahead - I'm just a consumer who can walk with their wallet, maybe, coz I love RDJ as IM. And for sure I was there when Iron Man kick-started the MCU (that was a great movie night, whole audience cheered at the end).

Am sure Shuri in the movies is great; but IMO there's nothing like RDJ's Iron Man. Heck, I still thrill at IM1 and just the shots of the full armor snapping together. Maybe I'll get flamed but BP's superhero landing in the trailer doesn't thrill me like IM's, because with IM there's the weight and force of that armor hitting the ground visually. Or even Thor's hammer.

But Feige & co. know all that e.g. they may lose some audience in time. Gain others. Long as the money keeps rolling in.

She’s nothing but a trust fund baby in the comics. ****ing Moon Knight has more intelligence feats than her. Tony was Top 5 Pre-Extremis. With Extremis 3.0 and Bleeding Edge, plus all the weird **** he’s done to his body, he’s a legit Top 3 or 2 if we consider Reed/Doom tied. Revisionism and **** like Moon Girl can go die in a fire.

I know. I touched on that in the first paragraph. She’s working with metal weaves and whatnot, when by Infinity War Tony has gone full on Nanomachines. It doesn’t matter what that ****** tie-in comic says, all that matters are feats. Shuri’s a **** character in the books, and that’s what she’ll always be. To even think to compare her with an A-Lister is absurd. It’s just another “muh stronk POC womyn” push like Moon Girl and Ree-Ree.

Thanks for posting that LOL black SUV chases. Come to think of it TWS chase scene IMO would be tough to beat...well anyway IMO good *unemotional* review. I thought for this movie the most fair reviews would come outside the U.S. This review IMO is more like the *average* movie-goer reaction. The design aesthetic has been mentioned a lot so that will be cool to see.
