+1 means you've started a second playthrough with a character from a previous playthrough. So you would start out with all the powers and XP that you had and upgrade further. Since you can't actually upgrade your character all the way with one playthrough

Actually darthviper if by upgrade you mean reach level 30 then yes you can do that in one playthrough. You just have to do all the side missions and search all the planets for the mini missions (or whatever you want to call them) and make sure you have loyalty with the whole crew.
If that's not what you meant, sorry :monkey3

When you start another playthrough with a ME2 character, you don't have all your power from the first playthrough. You still have to upgrade all your weapons, biotic power, and armor. You do have your leveled powers, but that's not much help

I'm about to hit Horizon on Insanity, and I'm dreading the Harbinger. LoL.

he's not too hard IMO. As he's being possessed, he levitates in the air and you can hit him with warp and reave (I had Miranda and Mordin with me----Miranda had warp and I had reave). Then take down his barrier, then use warp/reave again and hit him with Mordin's incinerate and you can take him down in about 10 seconds using this method.

I thought it was higher than that? Since by the end you only get one upgrade point for each level and I was at level 25 when I finished (I might have missed one side mission) and I had much more upgrade slots than 5 points could provide. ME 1 was like 50 I think

Okay so I did the loyalty mission for Jack last night, she became loyal, then got into a cat fight with Miranda (Joker: "Take Pictures" :lol). I sided with Miranda ('cause I wanna tap that :D) and immediately lost Loyalty with Jack. Is it possible to get it back?

I don't believe so, no. If you side with either there, you basically blow it with the other one in both loyalty and romance options. If you have enough Paragon points you can play it neutral, though and keep the loyalty of both. That's what I did.

See that's the thing, I'm way up there in Paragon points and that option was still greyed out. Oh well no biggie, just wanted to keep everyone loyal.

Your Paragon has to be maxed out in order to sway Jack back onto your side.

Even if she doesn't become loyal again, she still has her loyalty powers you can use AND you can still keep her from dying in the final mission (as long as you do NOT have Miranda lead any fire teams).

The Miranda/Mordin combo seems to really tear up organic enemies. They're my usual squad.

I've never really used Mordin before...except in his loyalty mission, of course. I'll have to reconsider him. I usually always had Grunt and either Thane or Garrus. But now that I'm playing on hard, I'm going to need to use more crew with biotic/tech powers.

Yeah I think when you hit level 21 or something it only gives you 1 point for every rank. I was really disappointed as well when I saw 30 was the max, but I guess that's because Bioware got complaints about having to start over at level 1 in ME2.
Perhaps next game, or maybe in DLC (hopefully), we'll see level 31 as the start and 60 as the cap?

Yeah, I researched it earlier today. I'd say I'm at about 75% Paragon right now,so I'm gonna continue doing the side quests until I raise it back up.

I think if you have enough renegade points you can do the same. I know I used a renegade option but I don't remember what it was but it basically took a neutral standpoint telling these _____es they need to get over it. Both are loyal, I went down and banged Jack afterward and now I am in the processing of banging Miranda.

After losing her loyalty in the scuffle with Miranda, I persuaded Jack that it was just "lip service" and got her loyalty back. But yes, that requires you to have maxed out your morality bar.

I still want to try out the renegade option, where Shepard tells Jack "I like you angry". :lol

You dirty, dirty boy. :naughty :lol:lol I read in the official game guide that if you get it on with Jack that it closes the door for you to get it on with anyone else...guess that wasn't accurate. They also said you couldn't have a romantic relationship with Garrus....that's not true either...well I suppose it's more like you are "releasing tension" with Garrus and not having a "true" relationship. :dunno
