Actually, they will speak to you about the loyalty quest even if you never speak to them beforehand. Chambers will notify Shepard whenever a character "wishes to speak with you". I'm wondering what the actual prerequisite might be, as I want to avoid doing unnecessary missions on my Insanity playthrough.

I think its by the set. You get the first set and after Horizon you get their loyalty missions, along with the new set of members.

Oh well, never mind.
I guess I will just have to do without her in Mass Effect 3.

My FemShep romance Liara in ME1. Still loyal to her by end of ME2. I hope she'll join Normandy in ME3.

She will live you have someone like Garrus head your fire teams and you don't send her out on her own (to take the crew members back to the ship or in the vents)

Just finished again. Had everyone loyal this time. And all survived. Surprisingly, the final battles at the Collector's base ended up being the easiest for me. Probably had something to do with having Reave now.

My least favorite is DEFINITELY when you go to get the IFF data. I hate those husk things. I'd rather fight a million collectors or geth than those damn things.

I'm ready for insane. I think. Well, I guess I'll find out. Hopefully I don't get so frustrated I quit. Damn do I love this game.

Insanity isn't as bad for me, possibly because I played through on Hardcore first, and also finished the first Mass Effect on Insanity. Only a few battles were truly unfair. The rest of the time, you just have to know what you're doing.

Yep I did all that, but I chose Miranda over Jack early on when they were fighting, so I lost the loyalty that I gained with Jack earlier. I'm guessing that's why she died.
Maybe the fact that I got jiggy with Miranda did not help either.

Yeah, I'm anxious to try Jack's romance on my next playthrough. Courtenay Taylor is an amazing actress, she played Juhani in KOTOR.

Yea, I tried all the powers you can get and for me (Vanguard) Reave was the most useful; glad it helped you out.

you have to play through the game and do no loyalty missions and pretty much just rush through it. thats how you get everyone dead including sheperd

Correct. You won't be able to import that particular ME2 game save into ME3 if Shepard is dead.

When I was doing Samara's loyalty mission - I had enough Paragon to either save Samara or Morinth. I ended up saving 2 games with each of them surviving. I haven't finished the game with Morinth though. I'm going to start up that save and see how/if it changes things.

Didn't know you could die by getting it on with her....interesting.
