That's really interesting. I still don't know what the ending(s) are yet, but I've heard mixed opinions. But apparently they aren't good. I've never heard of so many people get up in arms about an ending like this before, but it's understandable. A lot of us have spent 100's of hours in the Mass Effect universe between all the different playthroughs of ME 1, 2, and now 3. They should have understood that a lot was riding on the games conclusion.

Between that and the import facial features not working properly, I'm hoping they will address both in a timely fashion. I'm thinking about not playing anymore until the issues are addressed. I'm only 3 hours in right now.

I must admit i've spoiled it for myself by reading the endings and how to get them etc, silly! :lol So the best possible ending is a very brief shot of Shepard's armour moving, hinting he's still alive. Man this has been a crappy year for my favourite video game characters, Soap in COD now Shep! Well I know he doesn't die if you achieve that ending but, I wanted him to ride off into the sunset damnit :lol

So I played about 4 hours of the game (just left the Citadel), and then I realized that I didn't like the distance between my Femshep's mouth and nose. So I started a new game and fixed that, playing another 3 hours to get back to the same point I was at. :slap

I must have escaped Earth 5 or 6 times now due to Shepard tweaking. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

But playing as a Vanguard with the new melee system and utilizing Nova is pretty awesome. I do get myself killed a lot because I'm playing on hardcore, but it's damn fun. I mean, I just finished Insanity in ME2, so I figured Normal would be too easy and boring. :cuckoo:

Wow insanity straight out of the gate! :duff. things get REALLY crazy during the last 1/3 of the game. I hope to do insanity at some point but those last few missions are going to be hell.

I'd be willing to play some MP as well. My gamertag is SHADOWSCYTHE85.

As for needing MP, you can save Shepard without it, but you have to make the right choices to get the most War Assets per choice. If you play pure paragon or pure renegade, you won't get the maximum WA available in the campaign. Certain choices give more WA if the renegade option and the same happens with paragon options. You just have to know which option gets you the most WA.

As for Mordin, he’s f_cked no matter what you do.

And for Bioware, apparently they are buying time until Europe and Asia have had the time to chime in about the endings before they release any sort of statement.
But the devlopers and writers are very aware of the fans displeasure.

Actually you can save Mordin...but you have to have killed Wrex in 1. Then with a high enough paragon/renegade you can convince Mordin to sabotage the genophage and he becomes a war asset.

True, but I am not talking about the few :cuckoo: who actually killed Wrex in ME1. They clearly don't count.

Well, playing ME3 on hardcore right now, not insanity. Insanity will be saved for the next playthrough, and I'm not stupid enough to play as a vanguard in insanity :lol

This really is a sad era for consumers in the videogame industry. The trend will never change and there isn't much anyone can do about it. :(

The beggining was when software companies started charging $60 per game for consoles regardless of how much the development costs were. Meanwhile the PC versions remained at $50. Someone explain that one to me.

Greed is an ugly thing.

It's much cheaper to develop for PC, there's no certification to it, they don't have to pay any licenses to the platform or make any changes and it's much easier to make the PC version of a game. Usually the game is almost ready for PC just from developing for console, and beyond that since PC's have so much more power capability they don't have to worry much about optimization.

:FREAK:I'm about 9.5 hours in....enjoying it so far....:FREAK:

liked the prothean mission and the garrison students mission the most so far

Despite my hatred for the game's ending, (

I was just curious if you didn't like the ending because of what happens, or because the ending is too abrupt.

I haven't played the game yet, so I don't want anything spoiled, but my biggest gripe with certain game's enings is that you play the entire game, only to get a 2 min ending...

Both.

It's kind of hard to explain without talking about it. It was just very poorly executed IMO.

To me, up until the end, the way you play the series (paragon or renegade) gives a very definite outcome for your choices. In ME2 it was all about if you could save your all your crew by the end. In ME3s ending it feels like none of your decisions through the entire series have any baring on how the end unfolds. Instead you are given 2 or 3 choices all of which are downers, so if you're playing the good hero, you loose something in some way or another.

And like I've said under spoiler tags I'm not all for "happy, ride off into the sunset" conclusions, but it should at least mean something. It all feels very meaningless.

And then there is everything else that happens and ALSO what doesn't happen. What does happen really, if you think about it, makes no sense (you'll understand when you beat it). And what doesn't happen is what you would expect from story of this caliber. What do I mean?

A guy on the IGN forums said it best:

"I feel as though when writing this ending, the creators forgot that the most important aspect of story in Mass Effect was building relationships"

You get absolutely no closure.

On a side note, this game has been out almost a full week. I'm surprised to see that only like three of us have finished it. All of which have said they were disappointed.

I'm waiting for the import facial feature to be fixed before I do the campaign. After a couple hours in all I could focus on was how much my default Jane Shepard looked NOTHING like she did in the last two games, which is inexcusable. I mean if I spend 80+ hours looking at Jane Shepard a certain way between Mass Effect 1/2, shouldn't I get to view her the same way in 3? It takes the immersion right out of the game.

People on the Bioware forums are going nuts over the ending! I mean, how can all of these reviews not mention this major piece of info when so many players are going ape s*** about it?

Also, I don't see how the import facial feature glitch wasn't really talked about in the reviews. It's a huge selling point of the series. Seems kind of shady.

Reviews from major sites like IGN, and Gamespot aren't going to say anything because they are in EA's pocket.

Think about it. If you slandered my "game" when it's released, by the time my next blockbuster comes out guess who will be getting the first behind the scenes interview (or something). Not you.

That is why, for instance, Call of Duty continues to get high ratings from IGN, and then many months or a year later IGN will come out with a "Why COD: The Same Thing Again fails, and what IW should fix" opinion piece.

And the first time I had even heard of the facial glitch was on a random podcast i stumbled yesterday. Both of my Shepherds carried over just fine.

My Shepherd carried over as well. After getting my readiness up to 62%, I got the ending I wanted. I'm looking forward to the DLCs and hoping they flesh out the ending a bit more.

I think I'm most bummed out about not knowing what happened to Garrus. He was with me in probably 90% of my missions in games 1-3. And I hope Grunt lived...he was another favorite. And how sad for Wrex...if he survived. The]female Krogan is pregnant and he can't get back home to her. And with all the relays exploded...wouldn't it wipe out most civilizations in the vicinity? That's what we learned in The Arrival DLC with the batarians colony.
