2Gb is pretty big for just 10 minutes of cutscenes. It will be interesting to see at what point in the game the new content begins. Is it only at the very end, or from the Illusive Man's base assault (which is effectively the beginning of the endgame)?

Yeah 2 gb is easily the length of a full High quality movie avi file...

The estimate came straight from Bioware's Jessica Marzan.

I think you have to consider how many permutations there are and the unique assets that have to be created for each ending. I can see how it could add up.

But we shall see later today.

Speak of the devil, it went up immediately after I posted. The EC dlc is now available on XBL and PSN. Pc version in a few more hours.

Okay! Now that's more like it! I know that a lot of people's nerd-rage went up to 11 over this so I don't know that everyone will be happy but I do know that if that was the ending I got when I finished it originally I would have been more than satisfied.

But don't accidentally think you'll
shoot the kid for fun -- because then all life as we know it ends. (Had to reload from the restart mission file again and play it through so I could get the ending I intended.). But the end of all life has a nice ending too.

Just replayed the final mission with my primary Shepard with the Extended Cut DLC. Those who hate the God Child will still hate it, but many of the plot holes have at least been given explanations. You can now question the choices and even refuse to do any of the three options.
Overall I much prefer the additions they have made with the Extended Cut (they should have been there in the first place). I felt it was much more satisfying with some form of closure and consequence.

Well I for one hated, HATED the star child before but now I'm okay with him.
They made him even more like the "father" alien in Contact and much less like Jacob on LOST.

Yes, I enjoyed the story of him turning his creators into the first Reaper. Bet you they didn't think it was such a great idea then.

Just discovered a Secret ending guys, and I'm not kidding:

Shoot the kid instead choosing red, blue or green

is there any plans to include this with a new release of the game, with the download built into the disc?

I would imagine it will be included on the Wii U version. Unless they release the game as like GOTY version or something I don't see them updating it to include this content. Besides it's a free download so it's not that big of a deal although it is a big download.

yea but it's only going to be available for 2 years, so if you want to go back and play it and you don't have it anymore, i guess your SOL

Leaked Files Hint at Next Mass Effect 3 DLC
Will it focus on a Reaper named Leviathan?
June 27, 2012
by Andrew Goldfarb
Mass Effect 3’s next DLC may focus on a Reaper named Leviathan. According to a forum post on BioWare’s site, files inside of yesterday’s Extended Cut DLC include several lines of dialogue that hint at story missions revolving around a search for Leviathan, a rogue Reaper with his own agenda.
A dump of the files uploaded to PasteBin includes a character asking “So a Reaper goes rogue and kills one of its own. That's what we're looking at here, right?” Characters also seem to be on the search for Leviathan as he takes control of various people, commenting “No sign of Leviathan at these coordinates” and “That mining facility... everyone there [is] under Leviathan's control.”
Leviathan is a name fans might recognize. The Reaper has been mentioned before by returning character Balak, a Batarian who first appeared in the original Mass Effect's Bring Down the Sky DLC and later made a brief appearance in Mass Effect 3. According to Balak, Leviathan indoctrinated many inhabitants of the Dis system after being unintentionally activated.
These files could simply be dialogue from a discarded mission and don’t necessarily guarantee that we’ll ever play this content. This wouldn’t be the first case of Mass Effect 3 content leaking, though, as the game’s From Ashes DLC leaked ahead of the game’s launch and images of the first multiplayer DLC surfaced online long before its eventual release. This also wouldn’t mark the first time fans have extracted information from BioWare’s DLC, including story files pulled from the game’s leaked beta last year.
BioWare hasn’t made any announcements about upcoming DLC, but producer Mike Gamble noted on Twitter yesterday that “there's much more” Mass Effect 3 DLC planned for the future.

played the Extended DLC last night and defintely thought it was better, in a good but not great kind of way.

for those that have played it:

It sucks that "Destruction" kind of seemed like the right choice (to me at least) before the Extended DLC but now seems like the worst choice with the only possible graditfication of still getting that "breath" from a possible still alive Shepard. i chose and then watched the videos of the other endings and totally felt like a dumbass :lol

I personally tihnk "Synthesis" is the best way to go. that one feells like everyone benefits from it the most and none of your crew dies. Though Shepard's Dialog for "Control" definitely feels like it has a lot of meaning to it. It's going to be tough what to choose on my next play through with my FemShep
