So here's Mike's custom sheath, he says he's still working on it to find a better solution, but you can clearly see what I mentioned earlier, it's way too big and would get in the way of riding BattleCat or Windraider...
So sword might need to be shorter.

I actually spoke to him before he made it and mentioned that if he didn't adjust everything, it wasn't going to work and this is exactly what would happen. He needs to make a new sword and a new sheath and it all be done in increments. Of course just slapping two flat pieces to cover his exiting sword was never going to work.
It needs to be a combination of slightly shorter blade, thinner cross guard balls, more depth and less width of the sheath.

I think the best and easiest solution is NO sheath at all. But if it were to be done right, (which it wasn't) it would be the sheath Mattel made with just a removable handle for maximum display options. It's silly to think that this could work by actually putting the full sword into the sheath and having it look good at all.

Also, if the Filmation sword was done right, (which it wasn't) it wouldn't be as wide, which doesn't help the situation.

Correct. This is the way how Filmation He-Man should habe been designed by Mattel.
1.) powersword
2.) handle without blade (or just a short blade)
3.) sheath with a small "cut" at the top to add the handle

Could have been so easy.

I am usually really liking what Mattel is doing with the MOTUC line but I have to admit that I dont like the way the Club Grayskull is evolving. The new foot joints suck big time. The boxes are great but mine arrived worn. I have intended to display the Club Grayskull figure MIB to hide those rediculous joints, but at the moment I am not sure about that either. I dont want worn boxes in my cabinet. Thats why I canceled vintage collecting.

It just baffles the mind when there are other lines out there that spare no expense and provide multiple hands (and in some cases extra heads) for different display options, not to mention a whole bunch of accessories. Meanwhile, the MOTUC line is skimping on extras and missing the mark when it comes to common sense things like how to handle the sword sheath on Filmation He-man.

Well, those line you are talking of are way more expensive from my experience. :lol

Granted MOTUC line has a relativly old body. The way they handled the elbow and knee joints wont be done like this anymore. But I really dont want to change that style, as I like the conformity from figure 1 to today. Also I really dont see what you mean. We have gotten dozens of extra heads amd weapons. The only thing missing is a variety of hands. :)

The Batman animated line from DC Collectibles (for example) is cheaper than MOTUC and comes with a lot more, and has better quality.

MOTUC hasn't been very consistent at all IMO. In terms of sculpting styles, plastic qualities and finishes, etc. Sure, some figures got extra heads for a little while, but that didn't last long at all.

With MOTUC, your really not getting good value for the money IMO.

Agreed on Batman Animated. Though the line does have its issues too (original release wave 1 - especially Catwoman, painting errors on Batman from the Phantasm 2-pack for example).
Also there is no deny that the MOTUC line has ups and downs. The paint amount has been clearly reduced in the 2015 sub(s). Not sure about the plastic though.
Personally I dont mind paying roughly 25$ for a figure. What really hurts the price is the rediculous DR shipping quote. Mattel has really chosen the wrong supplier with DR in my opinion. They did hurt the line from the very beginning.

Yup, wave 1 had it's issues. From what I hear DCC has made an effort to correct future offerings which is nice to see. Mattel never made an effort to fix most problems, just empty promises.

What I meant by plastic is the "shiny" look is more prominent nowadays with the MOTUC figures, making them look like retail toys meant for kids rather than premium adult collector figures. Early MOTUC figures had more of a matte finish, which was a nice touch. I just feel they are taking steps backwards rather than forward.

I actually don't mind the price tag either, so long as I'm getting good bang for my buck.

I got Talon fighter and Point Dread! They are pretty awesome, I cannot display it on top of CG because it's too high on my shelf, but loving it.

I was able to sell Teela for $80.00 so, that helped a lot!! Will post pics a bit later!

Hmmm. I could have sworn you had a few negative remarks about Point Dread, but you deleted them.

I think the Giant talon fighter sitting on Castle Greyskull looks stupid.....

I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment.

I can't even imagine what was going on in the minds of whoever oversaw the design of the MOTUC Talon Fighter. It seems to be pretty nice based on the pics I've seen, but it's just too damn big. One of the most important aspects of the ship has always been the option to perch it atop of Castle Grayskull, and it can't even be done without looking ridiculous. I get that they wanted to make it big enough to hold two figures, but it would seem it's big enough to hold FOUR figures, which is just overkill. There is just no logic in what they did with this product. before this even came out I said it should be a one figure fighter about the size or a little bit bigger than the vintage one. This way it would look better on top of the castle, not to mention on top of the sorry excuse for a Point Dread that we got.

I sincerely think that the people in charge of the Point Dread Playset as a whole have no business working in the toy industry, and it's a testament of where the brand is going and the backwards minds behind the scenes of MOTUC. I especially feel bad if it was the 4H who were solely responsible for how this playset came out. They should be ashamed of themselves if it was them.

Anyone got the email about King Hsss being on sale? Coz I didn't even though I'm a current grayskull subscriber. Is he going to be up for sale again?

Anyone got the email about King Hsss being on sale? Can grayskull subscribers order this figure?

Anyone with a 2015 club Eternia subscription should have gotten an email and could log in and order him. I ordered mine last week. Any that are left over will go on sale sometime in the future, but they haven't released any more details yet.

If you had a 2015 subscription you can log in here to get it: MattyCollector.com Clubs Online Store - Purchase Plan Sign In

Tried the link but cannot login. So you mean only the 2015 subscribers was emailed? I thought any current subscribers would also have the chance of getting one. Anyway, thanks man. :)

Yeah, just people who subscribed to the 2015 sub. According to someone on He-man.org there are still pretty many left, so I think you should be able to get one at a later date when they put them up for sale for everyone else. I have heard April, but it hasn't been confirmed that is when he will go up.
