I think the collector's choice could end and then be replaced with continuing the Filmation line

But they really need to give us Stridor and Landshark before calling it quits :)

I would not put much stock in what folks on He-Man.org say.

You guys actually sound like you want things to end. Why? Are more figures offensive or something?
Stridor, Night Stalker, Roton, maybe a Road Ripper and a flippen Snake Mountain.
The Filiation figures are also quite popular and we have a few of those left, at least ten by my count.

All this has yet to come ya'll want it to stop now? why?

The rumor started with BRCDuke..he is suppose to have connections :lol :dunno

As far as anymore collector club, I wouldn't mind getting Dylamug,Lodar (both of those are trademarked).Granita,Stridor,Landshark and Snake Mountain and then I'd be fine with it ending

The Filmation line has left

Mer-Man
Triklops
Fisto
Teela
Man E Faces
Stratos
Man At Arms
Chopper (jitsu)
Spikor
Webstor
Kobra Kahn
Ram Man
Mekaneck
Sorceress
Buzz off
Syklone

Plus Filmation Blackstar is RUMORED

Here is his quote:

"Well...
It's going to be a very strange SDCC this year for MOTUC... I think. Somewhat sad, to be honest."

He doesn't say that it is ending and could mean a lot of things.

The line isn't what it once was, but there are still a number of releases I would like to see like Snake Mountain, Stridor and some more vehicles. Plus there are some great figures left like Granita, Lodar and Dylamug.

There are a few characters I'd still like to see made, but if the quality remains as it is (or gets worse)... I'd rather see it end.

I heard the same thing about BCRDuke being "in the know". On the other hand, I also heard he's not as "in the know" as he makes himself out to be so who knows. :dunno

As far as his comment, it could just mean this years SDCC MOTUC offerings could be the smallest we've seen. Maybe they decided to pull the plug on Snake Mountain, which is fine with me since I have little faith it will be done well anyway.

Mattel isn't doing too well financially anyway due to their lack of innovation and pure greed. MOTUC belongs to the 4H as far as I'm concerned. Let them have free reign over the line so people can still get a figure or two once in a while.

The line has been rumored to be "cancelled" pretty much since the beginning, and people "in the know" have made wild statements several times that turned out to be untrue...
In any case... It's been a helluva a ride and an awesome toyline! :rock

BRCDuke very much over inflates his status...such as it is. I certainly I would not put much stock in what he of any of that lot would say.

Maybe the idea is that the line will end on a big high (all things considered) with Snake Mountain?

:horror:horror

WOW! and I get a warning from the mods for posting a quote and making a tame comment about Val Staples. You must hold the golden key to the sideshow crapper. ;)

But yeah, this is what I have heard.

Wow. I didnt know that we are allowed to write "********". Endless possibilities... :lol

Personally the line will never be complete without NA being complete. But I am confident that we will keep getting figures feom time to time (at least). With TC aöready comming, Blackstar and Bravestarr in the rumor and the latest releases of Batman and Superman, I am sure we will keep seeing a figure showing up from time to time. But if it ends here, I am fine. With Mezcos One:12 line I have already an alternative toyline to collect, that I enjoy as much as I did woth MOTU. :)

However I really like the idea of moving MOTU over to the 4HM. They did a teriffic job with the stactions and would also not disappoint with MOTUC.

Speaking of Mattel having financial problems, whatever happened to the Hasbro rumor? Wouldnt mind MASK in MOTUCstyle either. :lol

He just posted again, this time a long winded post (sounds like an attention whore to me)

He says Mattycollector is on the chopping block

At this stage I think I will just try to finish off the 200x mini sub, get the vehicles and remaining giants and be done. I'll cherry pick from this year, pay the undoubtably high price Despara will go for and then be done.

Thats not to say I am wishing the line will end this year. Far from it. But as some have mentioned already with all the radio silence lately, lack of clear direction or appearance of it to be and Mattel itself having money and company woes it makes sense for them to be cutting back costs and I can see MOTU Classics and MattyCollector being one of those cuts.

Glad I didn't buy into Thundercats. That could very well end up being yet another incomplete TC toy line.

Snake Mountain sounds like it will be cancelled too since that would be a very expensive thing to pre-produce. I can't see Mattel wanting to spend the money on Snake Mountain... or anything else for that matter.

Mattel really just needs to sell off their tooling and any other legal mumbo jumbo for MOTUC and TC to the highest bidder. Let a company that specializes in "adult collectibles" handle it instead of a company that clearly has no clue how to handle toy lines like this. Mattel just doesn't have what it takes to run a specialized line. All they know is retail, going cheap with everything they make, Barbie, and Hot Wheels. Very shortsighted company.

Well I did edit to for a reason dude but I see you went and decided to quote the previous version. Not to be sensational I am sure! ;)

I will be disappointed if we don't get Snake Mountain and Stridor. Snake Mountain would really look awesome opposite Castle Grayskull and with Night Stalker already created it would be a shame not to get Stridor to go along with him.

We do have Mythic Legions from 4HM just starting to arrive which are all kinds of sickly cool. I am all over those and there are also the Boss Fight stuff with again, are cool but they are small.

If MOTU ends I do want it o go out on a high with Snake Mountain which last I heard was still being worked on.

The Mythic Legions figures are amazing.

Mythic Legion is such a fantastic line. Unfortunatly I got priced out when they were on KS. (I had some job rotation in the last two years which will finally result in a good job next January, but some things just werent possible). I have already contacted the 4HM, but it looks like my chances are slim to none to still get a set. :-(
