A bit off topic, but all this talk about Sinestro got me interested in figuring out how, exactly, he was still alive. Last I read, Hal Jordan snapped his neck during his transition to madness in the 90s. I just read the explanation on Wikipedia.

Comic books are stupid.

Wave 11?!?! :rotfl

I haven't seen anything past wave 7 at retail except for the set of Wave 10 figures I was able to score.

He survived the same way everybody survives death in comics. :lol

There used to be a saying that "nobody dies in comics except for Bucky." Marvel proved that even he can't stay dead.

Why pick on Sinestro? The entire Corps died in Emerald Twilight.

Magneto's "died" about 10 times by now. Norman Osbourne died and Marvel still found a way to bring him back too.

Comics kill off so many characters and none of them are permanent. I'll be the first one to defend comics as a medium, but as far as deaths are concerned, it's a fair bet to say that NONE of them are permanent. Personally I blame Marvel bringing back Jean Grey. I wouldn't go so far as to say they invented the whole 'it wasn't really him/her, it was a clone/copy/etc.' but it's the earliest instance I remember reading in order to retcon or otherwise negate the death of a main character.

Comic companies kill off characters to generate sales, realize it was a mistake or cave in to fanboy complaints and bring them back. This is why we won't see Grayson as Batman for long, why Bucky won't be Cap for much longer, and why a certain 90's Main DC hero's replacement will probably be back before the next year is out. It's all business.

But before the status quo gets restored we tend to get toys, so there's always that. :D

I think the Jean Grey thing is a bit more defensible than most, however. I mean, her being the "Phoenix" and whatnot. Sort of like Ra's Al Ghul. It's his gimmick, so it's a little better than bringing back Bucky or whomever.

I actually think they did a pretty good job of explaining the whole thing. When Sinestro was imprisoned in the Oan Battery he discovered the Yellow impurity "parallax" and begun to corrupt Hal Jordan. The culminating event lead to Sinestro pretending to get killed by Jordan before Jordan usurped the Oan Battery and by doing so took in Parallax into his being.
I think that they actually developed a pretty good background and the fact that they just did not threw aside what was there before was a good bit of writing.
That's why it's become one of my favorite books right now, they expanded that entire universe completely which some other major stories going on in DC and Marvel have failed to do.

Just my 2 cents.

And I am still waiting for my Wave 11, taking so long to arrive here.

This is why we won't see Grayson as Batman for long

I am counting the days my friend. I hold Richard in high regards but he's not Batman anymore than I am. It just feels soo forced. You just can't put anyone in a batsuit and have them batman. Richard proved this on his first outing as Batman in Prodigal son, then Jean Paul proved it in Knightfall. Bruce is, and will always be Batman. End of story.

It's a shame DC is "throwing away" Richards career as Nightwing to have him fill in as Batman. I really liked Nightwing in Bludhaven. I really liked Nightwing outside of Bruce's shadow. I mean that's why he moved to Bludhaven in the first place, to become his own man, to find his own city to defend. To broved to Batman once and for all that he was not Robin anymore. Then DC stiffs him by bringing him back to do what? fill in as Batman even though time and again Richard refused to put on the Batsuit because he realized that only Bruce can be Batman.

mmm.. I don't know about you as it's a subjective thing but I really think batman comics have also suffered for quite a while.... the whole bruce wayne is dead thing is really kinda stupid... not to mention that he's continuously in a world full of "super-powered" beings which is quite weird considering the natue of the character..

I read bat-comics too (since that I am a hopeless bat-fan haha) but I think only some storylines are worth it .. the famous graphic novels..... and also the older Azrael comics written by Dennis Oneil.. those are some good stuff in my opinion ....

Just got my loose classic Sinestro and my Color of Fear pack today! Sinestro, although shrimpy, is awesome. I will gladly pick him up again in his SC uniform if we ever see a re-release. The two-pack is very good as well-- clean paint apps, no stuck joints and only a slightly warped leg on Karu Sil. My villains shelf is finally filling out... now where's my wave 11, BBTS?

THANK GOD!

I still can't believe that comic companies still think these gimmicks work.

I'd much rather see the companies hire great writers to improve the books.

According to the majority of fans, Brubaker it seems has been doing a great job with Bucky but he'll never be Cap A no matter how good the book is. As soon as Cap was replaced I dropped the book like a brick.

Certainly, a good writer can take an idiotic idea and make it read well. Many retcons in comics have been well written, but silly retcons they remain.

I've been reading comics for almost 27 years and this statement is 100% true. :lol

Couldn't agree more. It's really a shame what's going on with. :(

The Super Wal-Mart in my town has a boat load of wave 10 sitting on the shelf and pegs. You could easly complete 10 sets if you wanted to. So if any of you are still looking for wave 10 it's coming.

I finally got my Color of Fear 2 pack today. I love it. Always great to be able to add to the Lantern Corps. But right now the Sinestros are outnumbering the GLs 3 vs 2! Wave 11 needs to arrive to give them back up support! :lol

The only fault I find in the Color of Fear two pack is, I can't fully display that cool face of Karu-Sil.

If not for the COF 2-pack and my loose classic Sinestro, it would be a disappointing toy week for me. No wave 11 til next month and now 'Firefly' looks like poo.

Anyways... ordered Red Tornado and Etrigan off the 'bay. Anybody know how long an Ohioan might end up waiting for mail from China? :D

Couple of weeks at least...but it depends on how he shipped em :huh

My local WM got all of wave 10 yesterday and I picked up all of the except PG. Forager is still in his box.

Nice that more people are finding wave 10. Just had Red Tornado come in on my lunch, which means save for Martian Manhunter and Plastic Man, my classic Justice League is nearly complete!

I dig the figure, I just wish they'd done a better job with the yellow over red coverage. But all in all, a great addition to what has fast become a very cramped display.

I need a digital camera, dangit...
