That's a great example of how to do fabric attire well and the likeness is decent for an early-mid 80's Piper.

The bagpipes are something Mattel could easily have got away with not doing but the fact they have as well as other extras like Sgt Slaughter's whistle and Terry Funk's branding iron shows they are willing to go the extra distance for the smaller details that older collectors in particular appreciate.

I like the fact they they are using fabrics in each of the lines. In Jakks Classics line, we just got plastic kilts and permanent shirts for Piper.

Just ordered my Elite series 2 Orton online. Before I ordered it, it was in stock, then when I looked at the product again after I ordered it, it said currently unavailable! Either by placing an order I made them realise he's not in stock or I got the last one. I hope it's the latter

Speaking of which, I stopped by TRU on the way home from work this afternoon. They had Jakks Classic Superstars Series 1 (HBK, HHH, Undertaker, Andre, & Bret) and series 6 (Hawk, Animal, Doink, & Koko) for $12.99 each. Thought it was strange. Didn't want to pick up any of these repaints just for the sake of it. I'm wondering why Jakks is suddenly sticking it to their collectors by releasing these hard to get, early Classic figs?

I haven't been able to pull the trigger on these.... 19.99 for a 6" action figure is a little silly.

The prices are great over here, nothing over the top in my opinion. I paid £8 for my Heritage Orton. The rest of the heritage series and the basics are roughly £8-9 in all the shops i've been to. That's a great price. The orton is worth every penny.

Online, well I have just recieved my Elite series 2 Orton figure from www.wrestlingshop.co.uk and it was £16, not including postage. Again, not a bad price, especially considering you can hardly find the Elites in shops over here in the UK. I think I saw it they were £12 in Asda supermarkets, so a couple of quid more is nothing. It came to £20 with delivery though.

The elite Orton figure is brilliant. I was expecting big things after buying the heritage Orton and it delivered! The tatoo work is great. The heritage and elite share the same headscan but his hair is a lighter shade on the elite, which differentiates it from the heritage figure and represents his latest shaved head looks. A nice touch. I wasn't really expecting much from the t-shirt, as i'm not a big fan of cloth pieces on such little figures, but it's class! I actually prefer displaying him with the t-shirt on, which I didn't think I would.

What I would improve on with these mattels is the display bases and headscans. The Orton headscan is perfect for me but some others are a little lacking. The Cena headscan could be better, for me. Maybe better paint applications and a bit more sculpting to bring out facial features. Early days yet though. The thing that bugs me about the stand is the name cards, cardboard, meh.

Both the figures I have so far (orton) are brilliant. 10/10. I'm now after a Cena figure, probabaly the heritage, elite Triple H and Legacy 2-pack. And that's just for the existing figures! Can't wait for basic series 3 Orton, Legends Stone cold. etc.

Wrestling shop.co.uk, might I add, was sublime in every area. I'm properly, properly pleased. The postage only took a day and there were constant e-mail updates. Not to mention does the site look fantastic and they have a great range of mattel. I can't speak highly enough of them after my initial purchase!!

Got Shawn Michaels today,the ultimate HBk figure imo with his coolest attire at his greatest moment in his career.I had the Jakks figures many years agoo and i honestly think the Mattel figures are much better,more realistic shape to them and not the heavy muscled bodies,my only complain about this one is the shoulders/arms,looks kinda small compared to the body.

Got entrance great Shawn today. Like him what a great scan showing it's true potential with a much better paint job than the two pack and standard release. Love Shawn and the attire but feel he looks like current Shawn playing dress up. The body and face dont reflect the time period. Outfit's much better than the jacks DA version I literally just got a month ago wish I did not open it!

For those looking, Series 3 is out for both the Elites and Basic figures. I think I only want Jericho and Orton for the basics, and Elites maybe Christian and HBK.

Here's a pic of my Elite series 2 Randy Orton with a small modification,

The hands are from a Toybiz TNA Kevin Nash figure and though they aren't quite a perfect fit and the skin tone isn't an exact match I think they work well enough for this pose.

I managed to get this figure for just over 7 quid instead of the usual £12.99 as the lady on the checkout scanned the label for the FlexForce line by mistake = RESULT!
