At this time, inclusive edition quantities will not be announced.

I think that's been the only official answer so far.

WHAT?!

Why? That's weird. Did they not sell as many as we all were thinking. Maybe there's only 8,000 of us interested in these things after all. I mean, why keep it secret?

In other words, it is so damn large, we are scared to tell you. :lol

My guess is huge inclusive ES, which if revealed = huge cancellations.

Would they really be scared? You would think they'd be announcing it like crazy, getting the hype of popularity to create frenzy for the next figures. I can see the blurb on the front page now -- Maul makes record setting sale with blah-blah units! They used to brag about how fast a figure sold out. Now...nothing.

Very suspect.

Personally, I think the number of Mauls that sold is considerably under what most people expected, and that realization might scare some buyers away who are collecting these guys for their future value.

I don't collect for later value, so I don't care how many, or how few, sold... but I am curious how successful the Inclusive Program was.

Like Daelith describes, I think a lot of Sideshow customers do care about after market value. Personally, I would like these things to at least hold their original purchase price, even if I never sold any of them.

Yeah, he has a valid point. My thinking was, probably wrongly so but, if the thirst for 12" SW figures wasn't quite what everyone is assuming it is (because you can't really judge with a fixed ES) then maybe buyers who really just want to flip would back away from the line... and start cancelling orders they already have.

But yeah, if the ES is insanely high then its also likely those same flippers will back off and cancel.

Collecting for value down the line is a real guessing game. You never know what is coming years from now that might deflate the value. I mean, a lot of people collected Hasbro for value and now look. The same could happen with SS figures if, say 10 years from now, there's a new player on the street. I think the only safe bets are figures that have not ever been made...like Kit. He's a good purchase -- low ES and not available in any other 12" form. Maul, well there's bound to be many Mauls made over the years, regardless of the SS edition size now.

As long as the look good and look the way they should I don't give a rats whazoo. Is it nice if they hold the original value sure but not something majorly important to me. Also I don't think there is anyting suspect in the fact SS hasn't said anything. I don't think there is anything shady in the fact they haven't said anything and to assume there is would just be plain stupid.

I don't understand the edition size questions. Who cares? I am just happy to have one on order. I don't care if they made 1,000 or 100,000. I don't collect as an "investment". I collect for a love of the items. Sure, it's nice if it goes up in value, but I won't sell anyway so I don't really care.

Just my humble opinion.

Don't get me wrong, guys. I don't care what the number is or how it will effect the value of my one little piece. I'm just curious how many of us are out there. That's all.
