With all due respect, the only "tantrums" evident in this particular thread are coming from the PT Apologist camp, not the OT Purist camp.

I've seen nary a "Lucas raped my childhood" quote in this thread (except for the strawboogeyman posited by you and Nam) but I have seen you call Purists "childish" and most posters on this site "immature". Do better. Or at least get a grip before you post about this topic.

You get his point though. There are hundreds of other threads around here where the butthurt can whine about how the PT sucks. It doesn't have to be in the "Prequel Appreciation" thread. The topic name itself blatantly dispels any other meaning of what the contents are. Those who need a Tucks medicated pad every time they hear mention of the PT are more than welcome to create an "Unaltered OT Appreciation" thread and go do gay high-fives and chestbumps there.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist here but if I wanted to start a thread hating on the prequels calling it 'May 19th Prequel Appreciating Day!' would be a pretty good way to go - it's kind of begging for a negative response, given that everyone hates the prequels.

Hey, can anyone tell me what there is to like about the Prequels? I'd be genuinely interested to hear an argument in their favour that's as convincing as all the arguments I've heard denigrating them.

It would have to be a pretty good argument to convince me to enjoy three movies that I hated, but I'm up for hearing it.

Surely, the naysayers are as bored with bashing the prequels as everyone else is reading/hearing them do it...

I'd recommend watching at least one episode and judging for yourself. It's not everybody's cup of tea. Personally, I enjoy the hell out of it but there're plenty of people here who'll tell you it blows.

Like any show it's got some fantastic episodes, and some pretty piss-poor ones. But overall, it's a very good series, and helps to make anakin into a three-dimensional character.
