I think its sad that anyone can bring shame on a family that is going to have a baby and get married because of it.

I guess its no longer the American dream to have a family? I guess its now the American dream to crank out kids and go on welfare and let the baby's daddy leave.

In the democrats plan of healthcare and welfare its actually beneficial for the mother of a child NOT to get married.

Do I think kids should have both parents around? Of course. Do I think two people should be married just because they have a kid? No. I am not even saying them getting married is shameful. I just think it is unnecessary.

I think adoption is great.

I think raising a kid in a family of your own is even better.

I don't think just because they're unmarried at the point of conception is a reason to just give up the baby. Especially when you have a family to help and offer love and support.

AFAIK, the father isn't a bad guy and the mother isn't a bad girl. All we know is that they're young.

Not enough evidence to suggest they'd be anyworse parents or any worse married couple than anyone else. As I said, part of me believes that any couple has no better or worse chance at being happy than anyone else.

Romeo and Juliet could have gotten married and 2 months later killed each other rather than themselves.

Where does me thinking that forcing marriage on two teenagers imply that I am in favor of people having multiple kids just for a welfare check? I think both are wrong, the latter just didn't come up until now.

Actually, there is plenty of evidence that suggests that people who become parents at that age are far more likely to fail at it (and by "fail", I mean raise children with significant emotional and psychological difficulties) than parents who start 5-10 years older. Neither is a guarantee, but the risk is there, and it is significant. Why take that risk with the future of you child?

I cannot remember in my life a VP pick getting savaged as Palin did right out of the gate. There's nothing wrong with the media scrutinizing a canidate for their record. But, this attack on her daughter is pretty low. If the media is not biased where's the stories about Biden's son and his hedgefund dealings. Maybe that's why Joe says kids are off limits.
