If you look at this picture carefully, the spade around the horn and the curve from his temple to the top of his head show signs of rugged edge, and even the line from his eye tat to his cheeks is a littls rough looking, fairly clean, but again, not something that could be called crisp to me.

Agreed. Though the 'skin' of the sculpt looks reminiscent of the HT Sao Feng proto, and it makes it look pretty realistic, don't you think? I never liked how smooth the SS Maul's head looked.

Regardless, I like the things Ive mentioned above more than the ones SS had, I just hope Medi has the better belt, but the outfit looks somewhat accurate, even though the robes should be alittle tight around the back of his neck, but whatever.

Good for you. Too bad you have to sell three of them to make the necessary room in your wallet. :lol

Possibly getting this---- but when you've got a 1/6 Darth Maul that you're already satisfied/happy with (in SS format) why shell out what is essentially three other SS SW 12" that you could buy?:maul

Starts coming down to $$$$$

Because there is no such thing as too much quality Darth Maul memorabilia :)

I think he looks pretty sweet! I like how his jawline seems more narrow, makes him very sinister looking. Also I like that his eyes are looking upward in some grim determination. I will say I'm jealous that figure and fold his arms in front of him! That's defintely one of my favorite Maul poses!

Can't say I'll get it, as I'm gonna try and swing both Jango and now Boba this fall. But it's cool for those that really like Maul.

Hey, anybody got pics of the Wicket figure? I'm anxious to see how they do the fur and articulation.

Rules, I'll get one for less than $100 within a year and a half of release, GUARNTEED! SS Maul is (to me) a 7 outa 10, Medi Maul looks about a 9. Gotta get it.

Once again Medicom show SSC how it's done with another excellent Star Wars figure. The headsculpt looks far better than the SSC "Stoner Maul" and even if the protos paintjob isn't perfect I'm confident it will be improved for the final release,if not I'll either get it repainted or swap it for the custom Maul head I'm getting from DarthCallous which IMO wipes the floor with both the SSC and Medicom sculpts. Aside from some slightly dodgy looking boots the attire appears to be the usual RAH quality and it's a dead cert the poseability will be far superior.
SSC's Maul is decent by their standards but I think this figure will be yet another demonstration that they have a long way to go before they reach the standards of Medicom & Hot Toys.

I have to admit, Medicom didn't show SSC anything with their Skywalker figure. That thing looks nothing like Hammil, not from any angle. At SS got the sculpt right.

Maul looks good though, and the majority of their likenesses since have been good. Most noticeably Jango.

I think the Medicom Maul looks great....just not $150 great...

The X3 Wolverine is a good sculpt as well. It just lacked good paint apps. Josh (DarkArtist81) fixed mine up and I'm now the proud owner of a 1/6 scale Hugh Jackman. :rock

Are you sure?

Oh yeah, this thread is gonna be good. We haven't had an all-out fiery debate in a while, but I think this one might be it. :D

I'll start by saying I own the SS Maul and I've always thought it was a pretty good 1/6 figure. It's nowhere near as impressive as the PF which I got a few weeks ago, but it is a fine figure nonetheless. Having said that, when I look at those two pictures, the Medicom absolutely DESTROYS the Sideshow figure as far as likeness goes. The main two problems I've always had with the SS are the eyes and mouth. They never looked right to me, but the Medicom's face looks spot on. The Medicom figure almost looks like Ray Park posing for a promotional still in a couple of those pics.

Again, I own the Sideshow 1/6 Maul so I don't want the "SS police" to get their panties all in a bunch when someone speaks their mind. I personally think the Medicom looks a thousand times better in these pics and if the production piece is that good I will sell my SS and pony up the extra cash for it.

Yeah, the rotocast flesh tones are what really kill the Medicom headsculpts. It's arguable that they do that to prevent likeness infringement, but with certain liscenses the actor likeness is built into the contract. Particularly Star Wars and the various Marvel Franchises. So the roto heads are really just cheaper way to get through production.

The Bruce Lee was good too, forgot about that one. The first Blade didn't really do it for me, which I passed I on him at a comic shop. I'm really hoping to see Medicom do Commander Cody with a scarred Morrison Head and with the propper haircut. That'd be awesome!

I can predict this thread already.

SPOILER ALERT!!

Medicom Fan: Like everything else in Mediworld this is the best thing ever!!

Sideshow Fan: Meh.

Medicom Fan: You're just jealous. Sideshow has big heads and crappy articulation and you could actually wear SSC Maul's boots!

Sideshow Fan: Whatever. Medicom figures are too short and expensive. I've had root canals and Vegas hookers that cost less.

Medicom Fan: You get what you pay for. You can't afford THE BEST FIGURES EVER™ then get a better job!

Sideshow Fan: Yeah, well... Medicom's Luke sucks!

Agreed. Trust me, I have him in hand, and he's AMAZING! Easily the best Medi Marvel, looks exactly like Blade from the comics based on the first movie. I have Comic Spidey aswell, and he's just as good, looks exactly like the McFarlane Spidey too.

Commander Cody would probably be pretty easy. They have the clone armor sculpt, the Morrison sculpt and the blaster sculpt, all they'd need to do is sculpt some os the modification separately, add them on and but some battle damage on the armor and voila!

Cody is a Medi-Must!!! :D

This may have gotten lost in the fray...

Are there any new pics of the Wickett Ewok figure???
