Now now now let's let this end right here and go back to the topic. I think this looks pretty settled now so let's move on (and if you don't feel like it has been, swallow your pride and let it go ).

So, how about that MediMaul, eh? Pretty snazzy figure if you ask me. :D

...
this medicom maul smoked sideshow's maul as much as sideshow's luke killed medicom's luke..

Both Maul's are great figures, but you are perfectly right: the Medi Maul is leagues ahead. Only people wearing the SSC colored shades can't see it (again).

I usually agree with you and I know that Medi Maul has a better sculpt and body, but I don't think it's "leagues ahead." Sideshow did a fine job with Maul in both the sculpt, tailoring and the paint-apps. Too bad the damn buck body didn't get the axe.:monkey4

I simply can't wait for this figure.I'm not going to lie i hated SS's attempt at maul (70% of the problem was the body) others were the boots and the expression killed it for me)So i sold mine a few days after owning him, even before this announcement was made. And when this announcement hit i was ecstatic i was now going to have the maul the way it should be.(even if it was at 150$ smackers)It's like now months after having a maul in my hands and selling it cause of disappointment i'm finally (in a month) gonna have my maul at last!

No offense to anyone who enjoys their SS maul, It's just that now i get to own MY Darth Maul!!(unless it comes out a total disappointment and then i gotta buy a SS one on ebay anyways):pow

You are right, "leagues ahead" is to much. The SSC Maul is fine indeed, one of their best IMO. Still happy that I have it. The Medi Maul just looks better. Even if he is not 100% accurate. But, which 12" figure really is? So, perhaps, it's just a matter of taste? I don't know...
If the Medi maul wouldn't look as good as he does, I wouldn't even bothered ordering it because I already have a very good 12" Maul in my collection, but alas... there goes another $150... which I honestly still find to much for such a 12" figure. Hot Toys, but especially Medicom are both overprized. But that is an other discussion, isn't it...?

for a little bit than 150$ i Think you guys should buy the Maul Pf from the bay...now, thats a universal winner.

Both are great. I plan on owning both as I've probably said several times. However, its really not OMG better if any at all. The outer robe is just plain awful! For the price tag it shouldn't have that problem. The likeness is on par with the SS one but again in person it was OMG better.

If you plan on owning just the Medi Maul you win. Just the SS you win. Owning both you really win. Owning both and the PF you win. There are no losers in this deal.

Regarding the Medi vs SS debate.

I learned. Do not comment. Do not say ANYTHING about Medicom products. Even if you hold one in your hand.

It was made quite clear that my comments, and my presence were quite, quite unwelcome on this board. Even after others echoed my sentiments.

I have a Sideshow Maul. I am very happy with him. I do not like the look of the Medicom Maul. Something seems off to me. I do not know what, and frankly, I don't need another that would be out of scale with the rest of my figures.

I am very happy with my Sideshow Figures. I am mostly happy with my two Medicom Figures.

I am not saying that Medicom sucks, as they do make good products. I like, and think that Sideshow has made some great products. I even like Yavin Luke (I'm biased. I have the Yavin Luke test shots as well). But I have learned to ignore the blatant bashers.

There just seems to be some weird vibe whenever anyone tries to justify why their figure is better. Its really a dumb debate and just comes down to personal preference. Yet you get these insane whine-fests that derail (almost) every thread about 1/6 SW figures.

Is the face paint on PF Maul sculpted in? If that were the case I would go with Medi-Maul.

They sculpted the lines in so it would be easier to paint during production.
Not very artistic! And it makes him look awlful, plus there's no skin texture on his head/face.I'll pay the $150 and get the Medi maul which has no sculpt lines and has the skin texture.

The debate is fine. Its people who take it personally that someone might like something different from them. That bugs. :lecture

Both figures are good, one may be better then the other depending on what an individual's tastes are. Sideshow's Maul came out first, so of course when Medicom decided to make one they would have to try and top what Sideshow did or no one would buy it.
