It's not a cop out. It's a legit critique of a $130 product. Sideshow gave us a leather belt at their price so I don't see why Medi doesn't at their price. Also like I said I hate the colored rod design of the sabers as I did Hasbro. I don't see any marked improvement over the outfit. Gloves are a bit nicer with more detailing and the boots are... well the boots. Blame the clunkyness on the production designer that worked on Maul.

The clothing on Medi Maul are made of the same material as Medi Luke's cloak. That material has weight to it and gives it a more accurate and realistic look to it.SS's Maul's clothing and robe has NO weight to it,and has that thin flimsy feel and look to it which doesn't look natural at all.So does the robe on SS maul,I mean have you seen that thing compared to Medi maul's,you can have the accerssories I want an accurate figure.

Just because it looks better doesn't always mean it IS better. The SS outfit from my understanding is based on a material that gives a look and feel to that of the actual Maul costume. Water treat it and work with the material and it looks fine. There was a picture going around a while back with Mauls clothes flared out and held with hair spray that looks fantastic. Also Mauls robe is supposed to be thin and gauze like I believe, not heavy at all. I would go so far as to say the cloak on Jedi Luke was wrong and thus this Maul is wrong as well. For the price I'd want accurate to the screen material, weather or not it is heavy and hangs immediately, good looking accessories (lightsabers), and no plastic save for the figure base/head. If Medi went and did Maul in those ways with leather boots and belt then I'd gladly hand over $150 for him. But for what is offered and how it looks to me this Maul should have been $100. The only improvement is that Medi seems to have the skin look down really well but the outfit (to me) isn't much better than SS's and the Saber could pass as a Hasbro saber.

I think i'll wait on the sidelines till in hand shots start to flood in before I make my final decision to purchase.

I really like the headsculpt on this Maul better....oh and the fact he looks bad ass with his arms crossed. :maul

One thing you don't have to worry about with Medicom,is that their production Piece doesn't drastically downgrade from the prototype.

Oh I agree there..if anything they are more impressive than prototype.I own three Medicom figs now, other than what I previously mentioned about the way the legs on mine are.I'm totally impressed with the quality of them over all.

Its just going to take Edwint's poses and enough freaks posting pics of this Maul to make me envious enough to pull the trigger.

I enjoy both Medi and Sideshow and thank goodness for my wallet I have yet to discover Hot Toys personally.

I really enjoy Medicom as well,HT is great company too. Those pics and poses do help with the trigger finger.I don't collect SS figure's that much anymore and I only have a few of there pieces. They really need to change out that old buck body for me to be really interested again.I will say they have improved with thier latest Old Ben figure. His clothing doesn't look puffy or oversized like the preivious Jedi figure's (looks like my complaing paid off after all). I'm getting that Old Ben here as soon as Bigbad gets him in.

take my advice. stay away from any and all hot toys figs! once you get one, they'll take over your life with the sole purpose of your existence being their complete and total acquisition. gotta catch 'em all!! :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Agreed, or the feeling when you have to pass on figures will consume you from within :monkey2

Ok, now to be a little less dramatic, they do offer some impressive lines, and that's the good part, that they develop full lines and help collectors create collection instead of random single pieces.

i don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but i love pretty much all of their lines! and every figure from every line. and i hate that feeling of regret when you have to let so much cool stuff go. good thing medicom aren't making more SW 1/6 stuff coz i'd be on the street eating medi packaging to stay alive.

I like my two HT figures but I wasn't so blown away by them that I can't pass up on stuff they make, but that may be due to they don't make many items I want. I'm not big into Aliens or Predator so...........

Those of you who have seen Medi maul in person, Are his clothes Made of Crushed Velvet, like they look, or is that an illusion?

Chavez, Buddy, As much as i hate to keep saying this, Sideshow's maul Costume is designed to be screen accurate. His entire costuume is lightweight and gauzy. AND BAGGY
Here is a fan costume of Maul, the BEST Maul cosplayer I've ever seen.

And, for the record, That's a chik. :monkey5

WOW! SSF is looking more and more like Rebelscum every day with all of this Sideshow/Medicom angst going on.
Since I don't frequent RS, I have to take your word for it. Are you sure you are not exaggerating?
... I'm not sure why dekadentdave got banned, but some of the rest of us should remember him to keep in mind that it can happen. ...
I also don't know why dekadentdave got banned, and to be honest, you've made me curious now. I think that you are not threatening us, but warning us. But you are aware that this is a place where all members can reveal and discuss what keeps them busy, in a polite and reasonable way, right?
