MC posted this at RS!

I've got a review of this guy going up later this week, and I'm going to be very hard on him, probably too hard. But there are issues - 4 or 5 big ones - and at $150, that's way too many.

Now, if you swap some parts between the SS and Medicom, and go through the trouble to improve the look of the body with padding, you'll get the best Maul ever. But if you expect him to look like he does in MF's photos (the one's above) right out of the box, you're going to be sorely disappointed."

That about sums it up. This figure is so-so without a lot of modding. I'm enjoying him the more things I do to it, but of the box it falls short.

The only thing i disagree with is "A lot of modding". I just did the padding and it took 5 min and i was done. The belt sucks cause of the way you hook it on but thats about it for me.And my maul looks great!

I wonder how much better maul woulda been if he was on this body

In my opinion, potentailly worse. That 3/4 view makes his waist look sickly disproportionate to his upper body.

The RAH is great for articulation and sturdiness and defintely captures the human from well, but the body types and representations of them seem a bit off. Some costumes can hide those things on base bodies, but I think Maul would expose that 301 massive. I'm hoping to have my Maul remodified with the leg extenders removed tonight and see how that looks.

I think it might look better.Mauls robes would hide a lot to be sure,And the shoulders look much better on that body to me.

grest shots!!!!!man keep those pics, coming in fellas!!my maul's dealyed till april..:monkey2..gotta go somewhere to feast my eyes on till this baby arrives!!:D

Man, based on your pics of Jango I cannot wait to see what you do with this guy!!

Hey MaulFan, how about some shots with the robe on and do some cool poses with the sleeves that are wired.

Oh there will be more images coming, I had to finish an illustration for today so I've been busy with that the last few days. One thing I don't like about the costume on this figure, the sleeves could stand to be longer/baggier. I was trying to replicate the Kotobukiya statue and after a point, i couldn't raise his arm anymore because the fabric was pulling.

yeah the "modding" cant be any worse than my sith anakin i just got. i worked on getting the sleeve, arm, and robe to look right for what seemed like half a day. futzing with these is half the fun. who wants to just open it up and throw it on a shelf in 2 minutes?

I agree. Futzing is fun and allows you to make the figure your own and unique from others.

The issue I find with making modifications to this Maul is, from my point of view, this is a so-so looking figure that you have to modify to make it look alright and would look pretty poor without modifications.

I own over 30 1/6 figures and I do personal tweaks with all of them, but Maul's only the second time I've taken a figure out of the box and felt like I couldn't enjoy without making major alterations.

Medicom's as apt to have hits and misses like anyone. As a pure factory figure, Maul was a miss, but a starting point for a customizable figure, he provides great pieces. I just think that compared to other Medi figures, this one didn't pack as much punch straight out of the box. All I did to Boba and Jango Fett out of the box was to adjust their shirt collars higher to hide the neck and chin and they were ready to go.

A humble suggestion of mine, have you consider shooting your figure against a plain backdrop? I like the lighting and clarity of your images besides the dynamic poses, brings out the 'glamour' in the figure.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see your new images of Jango.
