Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

A few things worth commenting on here...

It's hilarious to see so many people insult a figure they've not even seen in person themselves based on a few videos and no real solid still images. It's one thing to comment on a figure's accuracy but this doesn't look all that inaccurate compared to Jim Lee's Hush artwork - just saying.

The fact a collector can futz a figure to get it to look "just right" seems awfully wasted if all a person does is pop the figure out of the box, put it on a stand, and shoot a video of it from the front. While I agree this guy's video doesn't really compliment the figure, I truly wonder how much time and effort this guy went to trying to make it look good. Not much I'm guessing...and, as we all know, there are a lot of 1/6th figures which need some futzing to make them look good.

we criticize even the prototype pictures, that's what people do. And I agree with you that what Medicom was going for is SOMEWHAT accurate to Jim Lee's art style, (The torso being a V shape) but ultimately, the artwork did not translate well to figure form. If some padding would be added to the lower abdominal section of the torso, I think it would look a bit better.

I think I was fooled by this pic, into thinking the torso was thicker. I guess it was simply the shadow.

Looking at the other pics, after watching the video, I kinda see it might have always had that weird torso. I guess Medicom posed it carefully as to not highlight how thin the torso is.

The head sculpt also doesn't seem to look as detailed in the video.

But I still want it :lol

with padding at the abdomen and thicker legs, you have a decent figure on your hands. im just hoping it is 'do-able'.

yah wondering if the suit can be easily removed without damaging it...

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

Just saw these a few days ago at a toy show, and I gotta say, they don't look very good. The torso problem is real, although it looks like something that can be modified if you're into that sort of thing (you know, that thing where you spend $200, and then spend $100 more fixing the piece of crap).
I will go on the record and say that the sculpts do look pretty good for a different comic like feel. The clothing just looks too much like something that would come from a cheaper figure.
For about $60, I would probably swoop them both, but Medicom is waaaay off the mark on these.
I'm pretty sure somebody will one along and defend this garbage, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure they're the ones that either got stuck with a preorder they couldn't back out of, or they just like to spend extra money.

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

I don't think you can defend the finished product.these figures are not very clever and thats for sure.
neither is going to win toy of they year, but the fact that batman doesn't look like bale or yet another nolan batman (ad nauseum), means im sticking with mine.
if i see joker at a discount i may swing for him too ( depends on how deep the discount and how the xmas funds are ).

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

Saw these the other day at work and I have to say the Batman came out pretty nice. I think it looks a lot better in hand then the promotional shots did.

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

My question was regarding the 'back' of the RAH Hush Batman and the possibility of removing the unique base body and or enhancing the troubled midsection of the base body! IMHO with a little effort and some money, I see some possibilities!

... What say you my fellow customizers?

Other than the odd mid-section, the figure looks pretty cool in the videos. I mean, it is what it is: a stylized comic version, which goes in line with Medicom's usual take on figures. It was pretty clear, with the skinny legs and all, that this would be a stylized figure, I'm not sure what people were expecting.
The materials used look to be top-notch, whether you like them or not is quite another matter.
Not my cup of tea, but I'm certainly looking forward to a more thorough review and in hand pics.

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

it looks way better in that last vid. totally passable, im actually looking forward to receiving it again.

like others say, its a comic stylized figure. reasonably accurate to the source artwork.

the cape/cowl color looks a lot nicer in the natural light also.

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

The figure looks very nice to me. Can't wait to get mine--and in no way is this figure skinny.

Re: Medicom Jim Lee RAH Batman and Joker Hush set

Some Aves putty around the mid section and front of rib cage and it would not be nearly as bad..... Would actually be an easy fix!

If you can get the suit to stretch, then it would be an easy fix. But, the suit seems tailored for the misshaped body.
