That's pretty funny, what always seemed like tubing at the wrists appears just to be tape to conceal where the gloves and arms meet.

Any scale shot posted yet? Of this guy and another known figure, for true scale comparision??? I sure wish I could see one.
That shot of the hand is awesome. Yes, that tubing was the rubber cover to hide the glove gap. The costume is pretty simple really. There are shots of it in peices hanging up somewhere in the Book of ALIEN I think. Or in Giger's ALIEN, I have both somewhere.

Yeah, there are some absolutely priceless shots and video clips of Giger working on the original suit in that link above. Most comprehensive images I've ever seen, I posted the link last year, it's definely one to mark in your faves and take a few screen snapshots in case it ever disappears.

First thing that crossed my mind. Always good to save stuff to your own PC, never know when someone might pull down their site or take down images.

Right, since we haven't had any updates, might as well start speculating...

Is it me, or does the figure look "taller" in these new pics? You know, sometimes the way something is photographed makes it look larger. Angle, lighting all have an effect.

I mean, it seems pretty clear that Medicom would've had to develop a new body for this figure, so why keep it at 12"? Maybe it is taller.

One observation I had looking at the pics on the site Wookster linked, the Medicom dome seems true to the film dome, where NECA seems more based off the pictures of the suit now with the sharper dive from the length of the dome down to the face.

This looks to be the most accurate sculpture of the original H.R Giger design as a toy that I have ever seen, with the exception of two details. First, the teeth are a little too short (The canines should be longer and pointier.) second, the teeth of the original monster were chrome, not grey, not silver or white, but chrome. Even Kenner toy got this right with their original doll, anyone lucky enough to own one knows this.

Got an email from yesasia, they are now saying the Medi-alien will be out Nov. 26th.
I wonder if they'll actually get it that early.

I sent an email to Medicom. They were kind and quick enough to respond:

The said item will be released to the market in Mid December

So yeah I think we should recieve it by early Jan '09?
