alright, I skimmed through the pages and pages of posts about this critter.
All I can say is that I've seen many, many alien toys/figures over the years and this one is easily the most screen accurate that I can remember. The alien design from the first movie is by far my favorite. The others (sequels) are "cool", but lack the creepy factor of the original.
I can't imagine why people don't want screen accuracy, I don't mean to pick a fight but if you want a toy that looks like "how the alien would appear in real life", then just buy this medicom piece, place it in a dark closet, shine a dim light on it and BAM, you have exactly what the alien looked like in the movie. I don't see how giving an alien exaggerated limbs/claws and enormous teeth equals what is seen in the film at all... but yeah, just my opinion. Maybe if you think the alien looks silly when fully visible, then perhaps in reality you really just don't like the alien at all, hmm? heh.
Anyway, back to the toy, it looks gorgeous... but I too am a little disappointed that it won't be in scale to the HT Kane & Dallas, since they're the first alien collectables I've purchased. (and only because their quality is so high!) This toy matches their quality but is just too small, and if you can't do some interesting poses it might not be a *total* winner. Time will tell though... I still think it's phenomenal as a stand alone piece... I just hope the rubber suit won't rip if you try crouch the figure down... and am I the only one who PREFERS the rubber suit to a silly looking molded joint? Afterall, when the actors bent his arm in the movie, there'd surely be a wrinkle in the suit! can't get much more accurate than that, ha!
