And yet people were all "Time to get rid of that Figma Link you loved so much!". Shows them what for.

Honestly, I was going to pre-order this but the only thing was other pre-orders s and things I was buying, plus Medicom's track record. But this, just, what the hell? This is probably going down as one of the biggest disappointments. The tunic...just...no...that's part of makes Link so iconic, next to the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. It look phenomenal in prototype pictures, but this? the Madoka girls had great costumes in prototype and in-hand photos, that looked pretty accurate and all. Why did Link have to get the shaft? Medicom probably could have gotten a lot of great reputation this year with some of their licenses.

The change in material is not a big deal for me. Yes, a bit dissapointed but not enough to not want it.

Reminds me of the 2.0 Joker. Compared to the real life on screen look, that is a bigger dissapintment specially after Hot Toys got the guy making all those custom coats specifically for that.

Video game world, I am more tolerable. Might be the only figure we ever get from him and besides the green vest thing, everything looks great to me.

MxBxM, are you planning on taking it out of the box? I'd love to see more detailed pics, probably quite a few folk too. It doesn't look so bad in your pics.

The material does look a bit silly, but Link as a whole is a bit silly. I wish they stuck to the prototype, but I'm not gonna be up in arms about it. If the body is solid and the accessories work well and the posing is there, I'll be happy. The head sculpt is still good.

However, if stores started offering free returns and cancellations when a product shows up with a glaring difference from advertised pictures, upon which preorders are based, perhaps companies would start to take a more stringent approach in ensuring the final product matches the prototype. That, or release pictures showing changes as they come. It's not like Medicom didn't know the material was different until yesterday, this change likely happened a while ago in the production process. They should be sending out updated photos to retailers as soon as they know the changes are occurring. Even Hot Toys, you only see the changes they make once the product is totally finished and in OMG or another reviewers/collectors hands. I understand they might not want to conduct several professional photo shoots for one product, as the cost of that can add up and be time consuming, but would it really be so difficult to snap a picture on a designers desk? This is the age of social media and instagram after all, or hell, just send out a note "the material on the tunic will differ slightly from the prototype."

Anyway, don't like the change, but also don't think this will stop me from paying for my preorder tomorrow.

Sorry, not mine. Got them off ebay. Will be getting mine about the same time as those of you who pre-ordered from Amiami and HLJ

Fair enough. How does the tunic look through the clamshell? To my eyes, it looks okay, but just want to hear your thoughts looking at it close up.

To me, the figure looks great overall. Aside from the green tunic material been different from prototype, everything else looks good and accurate.

The head sculpts, being the most important thing I look for in a figure, look spot on, unmistakably Link on both portraits and with the movable eyes, you got plenty of choices to choose from.

But to put it in perspective, if I was to give you a percentage out of 100 based everything the figure has and how good it looks, I would give it a 90 just because of a material change on the tunic.

The tunic looks like it fits nice good, it's just the material thing.

But more important, being able to get it for less than $200 and after everything I told you, I think it is worth it.

Just compare. I like the Figma and for its size, it looks good, but the sculpts look much better on the Medicom.

Some good points. Looking at your pics, the tunic looks okay. The colour isn't as bright and garish as it did in that earlier pic, probably something to do with the lighting being too bright. It reminds me of SS Boba Fett. The colour of his armour looked hideous in some pics but up close and in normal lighting it was fine.

Sitting in the clamshell, it looks like it fits over the body quite well. Personally I'd give it 80/100. That's based on the pics I've seen today, also because Medicom have made what could be considered better anime/video game style characters in the past. Let's see if anymore people put up some pics.

Where were you buying him for $250?:lol
BBTS was selling him for that price. More than he would cost shipped from many foreign sellers, but returns, etc. are easier for U.S. buyers going through them, and you get lots of flexibility with the "Pile of Loot" (which I know HLJ also does, but. . .).

Yeah. Waiting to either in hand or pics, but if you are fine with it even with the plastic tray pics and the shirt not being a big deal then youll be pleased. I have been happy with all my Medicom figs: SSJ Goku, Hush Batman and Ash Ketchum.

Just noticed the chainmail pattern is accurate to the game pattern.

You could try wetting the top when toy get it. Apparently it toned the towel effect down

Not a bad idea. Apparently it worked okay with the Hot Toys Joker 2.0, though I never tried it.

As long as it fits well over the body and doesn't look really awkward, I don't mind it being a little fuzzy. Medicom Edward Elric had a really nice outfit.
